My mom called me the other day to tell me two things: "You aren't posting enough!" and "I think your simple outfits are the very best. If I were writing your blog, no one would read it because you'd be wearing your red pants and a gray top every day. Those simple outfits highlight your natural beauty [words only a mama would say]." So here's a very simple look for you, Mom, because I like simple outfits best, too, even if they aren't flashy or glamorous. In a skirt and a gray top, I feel very much like myself, and sometimes simple is just what I'm in the mood for.

This is adorable! I have to ask about this shirt-tucked-in-the-front thing, though. I see it on all the blogs and I adore it, but I have to ask-do you actually wear it like that all day? I've tried it a few times and felt absolutely ridiculous, so it lasts all of 3 minutes. Any tips for doing it correctly and not feeling like I just forgot to tuck in half of my shirt?
Micaela--yes! it works best when the shirt doesn't need too much tucking and isn't much longer than the garment you tuck it into. this is actually a kid's sweatshirt so it's sort of cropped, and when i tuck it in in the front there isn't too much of a tail in the back. i find that if the shirt is far longer than what i'm tucking it into, i end up feeling "scroogy" (you know what i mean) and untucking it. but for a shirt that's not super long, the front half tucks easily and it feels comfortable and i don't think about it!
