One of my friends who is visiting this week, Caitlin, is super-stylish and has a funny habit when it comes to getting dressed. She goes through phases with her clothes where she'll love one piece and wear it--over and over again in a bunch of different ways--for several weeks, before moving on to the next item. Over the years, she's done this with her favorite embellished white tee, a printed skirt, high-heeled clogs, a black coat with an oversized collar, a vintage red silk dress, and once during sophomore year of college, I swear she wore a green and white tank printed tank top for three weeks straight. She always looks fabulous and if you're lucky enough to get in the way when she's cleaning out her closet, you'll come home with amazing stuff. Anyway, whenever I wear the same thing several days in the row, I think I'm picking up Caitlin's habit of repeating the same piece over and over--and if I'm lucky, I'll look half as good as she always does :)

Nothing wrong with sticking to a trusted item in your wardrobe! I know I rely way too much on three (or so) pieces.

The skirt is so cute!
I wanted to do this as a fashion challenge - wear the same dress/skirt/top/whatever styled differently for a week, but I'm afraid at day 3 I'll get some weird looks. Because I don't plan on washing said item every day. And even if I did, who would know?

So cute! I'm a compulsive re-wearer in that same way - nice to know a real stylish person does it too... That makes it seem okay. Also, I hardly think it counts as re-wearing when it comes to skirts like this since they're such a great canvas to work with.

I love that skirt. I have been eyeing those shoes at Target and think I may need to get them. Wearing a newly item over and over again is always what I really want to do but something my inner need to be different everyday fights against.
