This week has been a bit nuts for me as I race toward deadlines, but I did take Wednesday evening off to go to an Alvin Ailey dance performance with Christopher, which was incredible. I had seen them once before in 1998 after my 8th grade English class did a whole unit on "Revelations." It was such a treat to see it again, especially in the middle of a crazy week.

I recently found this blog, and I love it! I love the way you style things, and you have helped me try some new things with what I already in my closet. Keep it up!

Please do a hair tutorial on this style! I have very long hair as well, and I'm looking for new ways to get it up and out of my face! : )

anonymous! i pretty much did this tutorial: http://whatwouldanerdwear.blogspot.com/2010/07/lesson-plan-my-easy-messy-bun.html except instead of pulling my hair straight back, i left the part on the side. hope this helps!

Ooh, I love your high-waisted skirt -- looks great with the polka dots.
That's awesome you got to see a dance performance this week. I am trying to remind myself that school doesn't always have to be about work -- it can be about enjoying my town, too. :)

I studied with the Ailey School director for a whole summer, and got invited to train with them for college. I was thiiiiiiiiis close to taking it--sigh. Another path, another life. But Revelations is absolutely one of the hallmark pieces of this century in dance! So glad you had fun (and looked so cute, too).

I also happen to be wearing wearing a polka dot top and a red button-through skirt today - twinsies!
