Weekender

weekender

weekender
works cited: bdg cords; thrifted christian dior sweater (whoop whoop); target boots; gifted scarf and mittens; h&m coat; hat from etsy (seams to be)

Inspired by last week's trip to a few Smithsonians, Christopher and I went to the Hirshorn and the sculpture gardens over the weekend (where we took these pictures and I felt self-conscious with so many people milling around and Christopher doing his Steven Meisel thing). This outfit is definitely colorful but I don't know if I got the proportions of colors to neutrals quite right; maybe this had a few too many shades of red and orange for one day :)

No such thing as too many. You look great.

I'm wearing four different shades of gray and black today, so I know how it goes. Sometimes you feel moved to wear the same color all over the place.

I love all the shades of red and orange :)
I always feel so awkward when we take pictures with other people around...

These cords are such a gorgeous colour! And they look great with the blue coat :)

Forget it, you look awesome!

Nope. Love. If you'd left out one of the pieces (pants, scarf, sweater), the colors wouldn't have meshed. Sometimes a bit of wildness is just what a weekend needs!

So glad y'all made it to the Hirshhorn. Isn't it spectacular? It's my guy's favorite--they do happy hours there in the summer, too!

I don't think you have too many shades going on at all. I think it's a nice balance, and I love your fingerless gloves.

I've been seeing red skinnies everywhere these days, I think I need to get on board, it looks great.

Also - I did a little tutorial on waving thick straight hair today, just in case you are still curious!

Super cute! Especially the 2nd pic with the blue jacket.

I think it was a perfect mix of reds and orange. It makes me want to slip into my casual clothes instead of my work clothes. Ah the luxuries of being able to wear your own clothes and do your own thing. I hope you have a wonderful day!

While the first picture is nice, you totally nailed the color balances in the second picture with the scarf, coat, hat and mittens. So cute!!

Very cute! We all need an obsessive photographer fawning over our beauty every now and then. What are must sees at the Smithsonian? We're planning a trip back east next year! :)

loving the pants :)

Sweet thrifted sweater! Love the cords, too. Both are so bold. CUTE mittens too. So basically, I love the whole outfit.

I do feel awkward when I have my picture taken as well. Especially when I am overdressed and in a small town. But you look great with the perfect proportions of red and orange.

I love the colour of your pants!!

Sometimes I probably wear too many colours, but whatever, other days I wear too much black. It all evens out in the end :P

I do realise that when a man reaches a certain age he does have thoughts of returning to his childhood. In your case Collin this has no doubt been amplified by your present and recent trip to your ancestral homeland.
