Last week, after a rad birthday celebration for Christopher, we both got sick and spent the week in various phases of somnambulance. On Saturday, we emerged from our sick-den to see the sunlight again and go helmet-shopping at Bicycle Space (I got this polka-dotted number). DC winter has been super mild and this short coat was plenty to keep me warm, even with my ankles showing. I can't say I mind the warmer winter, but I don't know if I'll feel like I deserve spring when it comes. Without my usual midwest winter suffering, will spring feel so sweet?

Ditto! I want to see photos of you wearing the helmet, please. PS are you going to do the DC Tweed Ride this year. I think this coat would be perfect!
I feel so ready for spring! But living in chicago we are far from it! Love your pants!
ooo love that jacket! and those brogues!
I'm glad you and Christopher are feeling better!! Love the stripes and the burgundy in this outfit :)
This has been an unusually warm winter. Usually its freezing cold and windy with no snow and spring is sweetly deserved. This year seems to just be a pass and I'll take it : )
Happy monday!
I have this terrifying feeling that, based on the weather this winter, spring will feel like summer and summer will feel like living on the surface of the sun.... ew.

Cute look! Love that sweater.
My goodness, your hair is getting sooooo longggggg. It looks so pretty and touchable!
I really love the touches of texture and color in this outfit! And if you ever start feeling like you don't deserve spring - just close your eyes and remember all those horrible winters from winter-past!
Love that jacket!

Oh, you always know how to put together an outfit and it makes me soooo jealous. Very pretty!
I was going to start naming off what I like about this outfit, but then I realized I like it all! Very cute :)
i will definitely take pictures in the helmet soon! and yes, i really want to do the tweed ride! i meant to do it this year but didn't end up figuring out what day it was until too late. they also have a seersucker ride in the summer, which i would be down for :)
I think Shay is right, unfortunately. Summer this year will be a beast! I miss the snow. I've got to love my unforgivably cold and snowy winters... Please know that I am a huge fan of your blog! :)
thank you, elizabeth!!
i know, i'm already dreading summer. the horror stories people tell about DC humidity are terrifying.
Cute helmet!
Winter has been so mild ... I hope summer is bearable.
This is a really cute outfit! I especially love the Megan Nielsen top - the stripes / color combo are awesome.
Even in the Midwest, it's been a pretty mild winter - the high in Chicago today is in the 40s! Honestly, though, it makes me nervous... climate change...
love your pants and jacket :)

I am loving every second of our mild DC winter! It's nice to be able to do things outside in January, I'm not quite used to it yet :)

Believe me, it will! We're still getting flashes of winter. Even though it's going to be 67 on Wednesday, we're due for a wintry mix on Saturday night. Now, if only I can get that to fall on a week night so I can get a snow day out of it....

Nice outfit, fabulous helmet! Happy to your brogues again!
Hope you have an awesome week, Tania dear.
Sweet kisses.

What a great mix of colors in this outfit.
Central IL has been extremely mild this winter- almost 60 today!! But we'll have to wait and see what February brings!

It's true. Global warming has its benefits.
It's been nice and mild around here too, but I'm worried that the snow and frigid temps are going to come and in a big bad way. Especially since I decided not to get winter tires this year. Yikes. Expose those ankles as long as you can. The world deserves to see those Steve Madden brogues :)
The jacket is perfect! So is the rest of this outfit. Are your Steve Madden shoes comfortable? The last couple of Maddens I bought were not the usual comfy. Super cute though!
It's been warmer than usual here too (and less snow) and even though I know it can be SO MUCH worse....I'm so excited for warmer weather!
Love this outfit! I am Midwest girl as well, so this mild winter has been very strange for me. We may not have suffered cold weather to deserve it, but spring will be very sweet :)
