works cited: ll bean dress; somewhat baggy gap sweater; hue tights (always more than half off at tjmaxx or other discount stores); steve madden boots; coat and scarf from h&m; bicycle tote from etsy; anthro earrings also found at eastern market; knee socks from target
This weekend was blissful and relaxing, so I'm feeling unusually restored to face off with a pile of articles that's currently knee-deep and a forecast of freezing rain (I'll have you know, this is not the egg mcmuffin of weather). This outfit is actually recycled from my holiday travels, when I wore it just about every other day. Sweater tights, a thick cotton dress, and cable knits were perfect for long flights but turns out they do the trick for a day hunched over my books at Tryst, too.

This looks sooo comfortable.
And now I want to watch Office Space...
Adorable.
I also have that sweater, and it did become strangely baggy after one wear. Hm. Still cute, though!
really lovely!
This is such a perfect Monday/lots of schoolwork/cute but comfy look.
Hope you have a great week!

This is so cute! I was just thinking about pairing a looser top with a summer-y dress to make it more weather appropriate. But I have to say, I have this same Gap sweater and it continues to confound me. You've had some good inspiration lately (I loved - and recreated - the layered-with-plaid-button-up look), but it just seems to stretch out so much with each wear! I'm tempted to put it in the dry for a few minutes just to get things under control. Overall, kind of oddly proportioned, especially in the sleeves, but you're making it work. Great Monday outfit!
P.S. cute socks - you have the best knee sock collection.
P.P.S. I meant the sweater is oddly proportioned, not you or your outfit :-) - just something I've noticed since owning it, nothing that comes across in pics.
Oooooh you look so good :) when i have a case of the modays it looks takes the form of jeans and a hoodie with me clutching a coffee like it is the most important thing in the world!!!!
you look fab!!!

@elise--oh my gosh, me too! no offense taken, of course, i know just what you mean. i am thinking of getting it taken in in the waist or something to stop the sag. i kind of knew it might be coming with a cotton sweater from the gap, but i'm still irritated when i put it on and it sags!
Sweater tights! I've not pulled mine out once all winter. This SF winter is so mild that I haven't had a chance to pull out many of my cold weather favorites. Not that I'm complaining...
I love your cozy layers! And, yeah, Mondays...blah. I usually try to dress in something that feels like pajamas. Comfy is best on Monday!
I love this cozy look! Good luck with the articles! :) I need to get some sweater tights.
This is a great look; better yet, one that I can recreate! I own the same dress, socks, similar somewhat baggy gap sweater, similar steve madden boots, similar tights. Thanks for the outfit inspiration! :)
what a perfect Monday outfit! Looks super cute and comfy :)
Love the stripes!
I find the stripes against the cable knit very intriguing. I like how it's unique and casual.

So cute! I have that dress and was just today wondering if I could somehow transition it to a winter look. This is great inspiration!
Ok you are officially one of my new favorite fashion blogs. I love that you look so much like you know what you're doing, but you're not citing shoes from insane designers, and you aren't an ill-looking toothpick with 12-year-old boy hips. :) Love this outfit in particular.
