I wore this to our building's holiday party this weekend, which was an awesome and eclectic mix of west African food, hip hop dance music blasting over a boombox, several toddlers wearing princess dresses and playing hide-and-go-seek between the banisters, and very heavily spiked homemade egg nog. I loved this outfit of Jane's, and went for a similar vibe with a sweet full dress, dark tights, and boots. Cozy for sipping all the egg nog I could get my hands on because 'tis the season in which no one looks at you funny if you want to drink what amounts to straight-up cream out of a plastic cup while chatting with 3 year-olds about Disney movies.

Oh love. From the heathered tights to the double belt, and of course Megan's sweet dress!
Love this dress! So pretty with the gray tights.
Your building sounds fun! I'm jealous. Our building doesn't have a Christmas party, and if it did it would probably just be a bunch of 20-somethings drinking a lot. Aka college, part 2, haha.
those boots look really comfy. are they?
ha I love your writing. tis the season! love the outfit.
cheers

Oh my gosh, this is such a lovely outfit!! I am in love with that dress and it looks so darling with the sweater, tights, and belt. Sounds like your building holiday party was a lot of fun :)
This is a great outfit, love the neutral colours together and those boots are gorgeous! sounds like you had a good party, we don't get eggnog here in the uk so I'm always curious what it actually tastes like...
Very cute. Love the dress + those tights and boots.
chloe--it just tastes like a sweet, spiced glass of milk, sounds weird but it's so delicious.
laura--YES, they are ridiculously comfortable. i have a pair of flats from blowfish that are only so-so, but these boots are awesome. i wore them all weekend and have been wearing them since. i can definitely recommend them.
I'm loving the double belt - so cute!

I adore this dress! It's so cute, and I bet you can wear it year-round and style it so many different ways.

You should try the egg nog at the Old Ebbit in the district. We had it before the national tree lighting last week and it was pretty amazing (and heavily alcoholic....)
morningsprite--thanks for the recommendation, i will DEFINITELY try it. there's only so many weeks of the year a gal can have her fill of egg nog and i plan to make the most of them. thank you :)
Confession: I've never had egg nog. Seriously. I need to change that this year, I think. Love your boots, too - I've been eyeing those on the blowfish site for awhile and after reading your thoughts in the comments I think I might have to bite the bullet and make them mine. They're so cute!
Adorable dress! I love how you styled it!

Love everything about this!! Especially that belt with the dress. The shoes look good too- do you think this kind of outfit would match with Chelsea boots? Not sure if I should invest in a pair or not...

haha! "straight up cream"...it is a bit thick, huh? the first sip of the season is always a little weird. do i chew or...? i just add ridiculous amounts of booze. you know, to water it down.
love this look, btw. i have a similar dress and i'm working on winterizing it...thanks for the inspiration!
oooh, sadly I don't really like egg nog, but if I did I would definitely wear something like this whilst drinking it :)
I'm super obsessed with wedges lately - love the height, but also so comfy. These booties are adorbs!
Meggy from Chasing Davies

This might sound weird to anyone who is not a style blogger, but I think your outfit-hair-location combination here is absolutely perfect.
Lookin' good! I'm loving that it's egg nog season. It's too rich for me, though, so I have to cut it with 1% milk. Yeah, I'm kind of a pansy.

@greta--what are the chelsea boots?
@barefoot and vintage--i laughed so hard at this; it's true at that first sip that you can't remember how you should treat it. the rum definitely watered it down :)
@kultur--it hasn't really dropped below 50 during the day, so yes, it's still pretty warm here! however, i'd probably wear this in the winter too (only with a scarf and coat) because it had some cozy layers built in.
You look so adorable!! How warm is it in DC? Because we can use our porch as a freezer now, in Texas. Yea, I know.
love,
SUZE
