History of a Working Vacation

I've returned to the land of the living, in just enough time to frantically pack a bag and hop aboard a bus to Princeton, where one of my best friends and roommates from college awaits, for a nerd-tastic weekend of co-studying and library-hopping. In my family of workaholics, it's not unusual to take work wherever you go. Many family trips have been spent taking copious notes on novels, or huddled around laptops working on grants, so often that we actually have a name for this Type A disorder type of travel: "a working vacation." Friends + good food + getting work done = true nerd happiness.

I'm so glad my family and I are not alone in our workaholicness - our favorite activity is getting work done. Wouldn't want to ruin a vacation by accomplishing nothing!

for me that's also true happiness - well plus that it consists of a good dinner (cooking together) and talking about classical musical and musicology ;-) I love this nerd-world! xxx Anita

I like the pink with all the neutrals. I am hoping to avoid work over the break, so I can catch up on my reading.

You look adorable! This is one of my favorites lately.

I totally understand the working vacation. Now that I'm self employed I find it almost impossible to stop work for anything, including holidays. But it sure beats being trapped in a cubicle!

Yesss, I love it when people understand that work can be fun and relaxing just as long as you love the work you're doing and the people you're with :) Have a fun (and safe) trip!

That is a sickness... and my husband has it too. He actually stresses out if he doesn't work on vacation. Oh well, whatever makes you guys happy haha. I really like that belt with this dress. I don't think I would have thought of it (I still have issues with belt/shoe matching at times), but it works really well. Especially with the addition of the cardigan. :)

That actually sounds great. Whenever I had finals as a student, a bunch of my friends and me spent all our time together in library. Studying became much more fun when there was a possibility for cracking jokes, secretly eating junk and way too long breaks. And even though we did all that, we still got a lot more studying done because watching other people work is so incredibly motivating. So integrating this into a trip doesn't sound half bad - after all, what's vacation without some intellectual stimulation? :)
