Last Friday

friday
works cited: very wrinkled skirt: c/o spotted moth; steve madden boots; madewell cardigan; j. crew button-up; thrifted belt; bicycle tote from etsy; breda watch

I wore this last Friday just before going out of town to the mountains/hills in Virginia for the weekend. I realized after putting it on and walking out the door that it is the twin of this outfit (if it ain't broke, as they say). It was blissful to be out of the city for a few days, and it felt so calming to take hikes and build fires. Unfortunately, my aptitude for mangling technology inflicted itself on my camera and I managed to corrupt my camera's memory card by pulling it out of the computer without ejecting it--so you may be unjustly robbed of the pleasure of seeing me in my woodsy best. Also, this week may be a little low on pictures because Christopher is out of town and I've bungled my camera but I'll see if I can con my good friend who is visiting into taking a few photos. In any case, I have a few back-ups in my pocket plus I'm working on a new (overdue) post on book recommendations :)

you look like a cute little country girl in this outfit. hope your weekend in the woods was fun! but totally a bummer about the memory card thing. i did that once, but fixed it by putting it back in and then properly ejecting it. maybe that'll help?

wildchild, thanks for the sympathy! i think i'll wait till C gets home and see if he can help. unfortunately, i thought i hadn't put it in properly, so pulled it out and loaded the (remaining) pictures on the other computer. when i put the memory card back in, the computer told me i had ejected it improperly and that any found files would be restored in a folder called "found" but there was no "found" folder! hopefully christopher can fix it when he gets home :(

Damn technology! It gets me every time! I love this gingham top (can't tell that it's wrinkled from the pics actually). And the boots are always a fave of mine! Sounds like you had a lovely weekend!

I did the exact same thing with my memory card recently and got almost all the pictures back with a free recovery programme...I think it was 'Handy Recovery' by SoftLogica or it might have been called Convar. I can't remember which one it was that worked in the end. Anyway hope that helps! Love your outfit....skirt is gorgeous and your hair is so long and beautiful!

You look so cute! I love the orange-y gingham. Usually gingham shirts are blue and white, so it's a nice twist.

This outfit is really autumny! I am really loving Fall colors. It's too bad the memory card corrupted, I did the same thing but fortunately my manchild told me how to fix it directly from the camera itself and also from a laptop.

Oh wow, I never realized something bad could actually happen from not ejecting your memory card properly! I'm going to do it the right way from now on! Your button down is so cute!

Lovely outfit - I really like the colors! Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend :) That's too bad about your camera, I hope you're able to fix it without too much trouble.

I am the same way! With the outfits and the technology. I style my outfits, and then I realize I wore something similar weeks ago. hah. I'm horrible with technology too. I don't know what I'm doing and I'm a teenager. Sad!
Great outfit though. I love it. It looks really comfortable, and very chic.

Oh nooooo! That's so sad about your photos. I always thought the whole "remove device safely" thing was just a myth but now I know. So sorry you had to be the cautionary tale :( Hope you had a great time on your trip to the mountains. It's definitely the perfect time of year for a woodsy trek. You look great!!

Tania, this outfit is so flippin' adorable. Loving the striped the shirt and that pretty skirt -- the whole outfit just seems to epitomize autumn colors.

Good luck with photo-taking! Also looking forward to your book recs :)

I love the combo of the orange plaid and the red sweater, very cute and colorful.

You look so humorously cute and nervous in that last photo. It makes me want to hug you, and as we know, I'm not a hugger. Also, i ned that cardigan. It looks excellently cardigan-y and is such a nice color.

Sorry about your memory card woes. I empathize; I've done the jack-your-card move at least 100 times. :)
