D.O.D. 2

monday

monday

monday
works cited: gap jeans and shirt; scarf and bracelets were gifts from friends; target flats; thrifted bag

I've mentioned this once before, but I used to have a joke with a friend about people who would wear head-to-toe denim. We called it D.O.D.--"denim on denim"--and poked a lot of fun about it. Now I'll happily eat my words; there's no easier outfit than jeans and a chambray button-up. At this point, it seems like a given rather than a deviation from the norm, but it's another pretty busy week, so I'll take my shortcuts wherever I can get them. If that means ruthlessly copying myself, Kendi, and Jess, so be it.

I haven't attempted the "denim tuxedo" yet... probably because I don't own anything denim to wear on top... but I think it's cute.

I've always heard the jean jacket with jeans referred to as a Canadian tuxedo. Poor Canadians. You look adorable! Love the scarf with the flats.

I've not been brave enough to try the DOD look myself, but you are rocking it! Good for you, girl!

One of my favorite go-to outfits too - - D.O.D. but I think that it requires a flashy shoe or a flashy bright scarf or both! But, not in the same pattern; that's just too matchy matchy.

I don't know if I'm the only one having this problem, but I can't read the test with the posts without highlighting it.

I love your outfit and you've convinced me I need a pair of leopard printed shoes.

Cute! I need to try this.

I'm from DC and here, DOD means something completely different. I read the title wondering how the heck the Department of Defense had anything to do with your outfit.

I get it now. :)

ha you look cute doing it though, so don't even worry. the accessories make the outfit :)

I wore double denim last week, so I approve of this outfit.

DOD is okay as long as the denims aren't matchy matchy. And this looks great. Love the scarf you chose to pair with it!

I've always been a little weary of the denim on denim...but it totally works! Love the leopard flats.

Shortcut or no, I think this is a great example of how to wear DOD well - two different but complimentary shades, set off with some extra color and texture from your accessories. And, seriously? The shoes! Oh, I didn't know I needed a pair of leopard flats so badly....

I love denim with a chambray shirt. Probably because I love the 70s revival. But I've yet to find a flattering chambray top.

This is true perfection! I love the double denim look and you know how special leopard print flats are to me!
I just need a red scarf to recreate this look! Love it!

D O D I definitely thought was day of the dead! HA! Your denim on denim looks adorable, I haven't found a chambray shirt I love **sigh**

I'm guilty of making fun of D.O.D. too, except we call it a "denim tuxedo" as someone else mentioned above. But I like the way it looks.
