Weekends

weekend

weekend

weekend
works cited: gap dress; hand-me-down sweater; necklace from etsy (linleyshea); target boots; h&m bag

In the style of Thoreau, I sucked the marrow of out life of this weekend. These crisp-but-warm October weekends are rare so I packed it full with a bike ride, my honeycrisp apples, an evening out dancing with new friends, waffles with my handsome beau at Tryst, and the drum circle at the park. I also finished re-reading J.G. Farrell's Troubles which is even funnier--like embarrassing-laugh-out-loud-at-the-coffee-shop funny--the second time around. For an unfussy weekend, unfussy weekend clothes--favorite dress, chunky sweater, no makeup. Thoreau probably dispensed with mascara on the weekends, too, right?

I love fuss-free clothes for weekends because that's exactly what you need after a week of uptight schedules! :) You look really cute.

I do get those embarrassing laughing with myself moments at the coffee shop too... sometimes even when I'm reading a text and shopping with the sales lady just looking at me. Haha!

Cute outfit. I love the necklace. I also love J.G. Farrell, although I haven't read Troubles, just The Seige of Krishnapur and The Singapore Grip, both of which were excellent. I'll have to look out for Troubles.

That sounds like such a perfect weekend :) I've had 'Troubles' on my to-read list for awhile now and I think I really need to bump it to the top. I could use an embarrass-myself-in-public-but-it's-so-worth-it book right about now. Funny story: I'm wearing an almost identical outfit today, but I'm envying those boots of yours (I'm in loafer flats with tassels). I love the black and tan combo!

You are truly making the most of your new city! It's wonderful to see how much you're enjoying yourself while still working hard (and looking amazing, of course). I admire you.

Also, I double dog dare you to ask a research librarian at the LoC to assist you in determining Thoreau's weekend eye makeup routine.

Lady, that sounds like a MARVELOUS weekend. And your sweater looks like just about the coziest thing ever.

Your literary references crack me up. Thoreau DID indeed forgo mascara most of the time, except perhaps on those hungover mornings when he needed a little pep in his step. Maybe a quick eyelash curl? (which, I realize, didn't exist, so maybe he did that spoon trick instead).

Sounds like an amazing weekend! I love the short boots---I haven't been able to pull them off yet but I am working on it :) You look so cute in them, I think I need to try them out!

Sounds like the perfect weekend! And I just love your outfit :) I'm jealous you have a drum circle at a park nearby. I wish I could stumble upon things like that in my town!

I'm in love with this outfit, especially that sweater! The perfect cozy fall sweater. I think I'll have to recreate this for myself. Plus try to have the sort of weekend you described.
