Monumental

works cited: gap skirt; anthro top (gift from my sister); thrifted belt and bag; target flats; breda watch

This weekend, Christopher and I moseyed down to the National Mall to check out the monuments. As two nerds, we were inspired by the sights and argued happily about history, the symbolism of various monuments, and war. We stopped to take some tourist pictures at the Lincoln Memorial, where the views are spectacular. I was especially excited to see Lincoln, with whom I have a lot in common: we are both Illinois-transplants in DC who spend a lot of time sitting in chairs looking pensive.

I love how put together this outfit is! Definitely perfect for moseying around. ;)

Sometimes, I think I have my Lincoln moments too... or at least that's how I see it.

I love how "normal" these outfit photos are. As in, you're in a spot in which people normally take basic photos...as opposed to those times in public in which your partner is taking photos of you and other people walk by and wonder why that's happening.

Cute and effortless! And I always like a bit of animal print.

I'm heading out to DC on Thursday for a long weekend. Illinois in the house!

Very cute outfit - I like the shoes!

I must say, the monument experience isn't quite the same without the reflecting pool. I lived in D.C. all summer and spent a day wandering around the area. I miss the water...the giant mud hole that was there isn't quite the same :)
