I'm feeling more or less back to myself today--enough to get dressed and share one funny tidbit about teaching online. My class "meets" twice a week in an "virtual classroom," in which we can type messages, transmit video or audio, and draw on a virtual whiteboard. Although I really miss interacting with students face to face, one of the unexpectedly great things about the online classroom is that when I lecture into my microphone, I can imagine that all my students are rapt with attention on the other side of their computers. In a conventional classroom, there is always someone who stayed up too late studying and is nodding off in class as you talk (disheartening, even when you know the student can't help it). But in an online classroom, I let my imagination run wild and believe that all my students are ramrod straight in their chairs, devotedly taking notes. It's a great perk :)

I love all your skirt photos at the end of your post, very cute! And I'm o-so-positive that your students are most definitely paying super close attention :)
super cute boots!

Love this outfit! And I loved taking online classes when I was in college!
i just love this outfit! so fall-ish & wonderful. that skirt is just so classic.
Absolutely adoreee this outfit! That shirt looks amazing with that cardigan... and those boots!? Fantastic.
This is a wonderful teaching experience to have on your resume. More and more schools are offering online classes. I would love to hear more about your experience. Thanks for sharing!
You look amazing! I just love your boots :)

I love this combination! I like how you roll the sleeves of the shirt and cardigan up - such a great detail.
Your outfits are cute! And I'm sure the kids are listening :)
T, of course they are! :)
LOVE that skirt!
Haha! I've never taught an online class, but it seems like it would be a really interesting experience. Do you find that your normal classroom pedagogies translate, or are you changing up your teaching style?
Love the outfit, too!
I'm sure all the kids ARE listening! :-)
Hear hear, I am so tired of the tired ones. Nice of you to imagine them being up studying the day before, I rather think that they've been doing everything else but studying as I note an increase in tired students on Monday mornings ;).
This is one of my favorites lately. Very cute!
Oh I am so very envious of this skirt! So versatile.
I always felt so so bad for falling asleep in class. I think I have mild narcolepsy or something, because I really couldn't help it! The funniest part was looking over my notes afterwards and seeing the bits where I was falling asleep, but still trying to pay attention...yep, that wasn't legible at all, haha.
If you were my lecturer, I would most definitely be rapt with attention :). And I love love love that outfit - so autumnal and put together, awesome!
This post made me flash back to undergrad when I took a nutrition class online and sat in front of my computer listening to healthy eating lectures while inhaling piles of Twix bars. I feel guilty about that now. Glad you're back to feeling as good as you look!
LOL - I never really appreciated instructors until I was a TA for a physiology lab. I always thought I would be more interesting than my teachers but I'm thinking probably not :)
Love seeing your remixes of your skirt. It looks like a keeper!
I bought the same anthro skirt and have been loving it. Next, I will wear it with a belt and boots - yay for fall outfits! Love your remixes!
I totally know what you mean about the sleepy students... so disheartening while you're trying to teach. It drives me insane. It's probably best you're over a computer now - if I were in your class, I'd just be admiring your outfits.... and that's coming from a teacher! Ha!
Better Than a Milk Mustache
We dream such simple dreams, right?
Love the pink and rust. Your skin looks all glowy and amazing!
That is a good perk. Now I just need to convince the principal at my high school to let me lecture from home. Then again, though, no one would see my outfits.

this is such a good beginning of fall outfit and i'm still lusting after your boots, a year later. maybe i'll invest.
but i feel like i'd be more likely to fall asleep in an online lecture- there's no one there to keep you accountable! ha. but maybe i'm the minority and you're right after all :)
Very cute outfits! I am looking for some high boot socks...where would you recommend? I'm very tall with long legs :)

I totally understand where you're coming from! I think that might possibly be the worst part about teaching, the students not paying attention. But I must say, this outfit is sheer perfection! I love everything about it! The denim and belt and boots were made for each other.
Tania, I love this outfit! I'm glad to hear your online teaching is going well. I've definitely been thinking more about the attentiveness of students issue this semester, as I've got two classes that have -- gasp! -- banned laptops in the classroom. It's amazing how different the environment is!
I really like this skirt! I also love the color of that sweater!
I wish you were my online class teacher...
I'm taking an online history class that stinks right now; I'm really dissapointed!
You look fabulous, love the boots!!
Glad you could find a great "perk"! I'm also loving your outfit so much that I might just need to recreate it, I have some ideas already!! Thanks for the inspiration!

This outfit is great! I love how versatile your skirt is. You have worn it so many fantastic ways. Items like that really are worth their price! Your cardi is so cute & I LOVE your boots. I'm such a boots gal. I've never worn boots with my socks showing but really am loving the trend. I'm going to have to give it a whirl :)
Which class are you teaching online? I can see teaching a lit class, but I'm worried that when I finally do teach an online class that I'll have to answer fifty emails asking the same question (I've had all face-to-face since I started teaching three years ago).
Love the outfit, by the way!
