Lengthy

works cited: j.crew shirt; thrifted skirt; target shoes; hand-me-down necklace

Although the days are getting shorter, a couple things in my life are growing longer these days. For example: hemlines. I thrifted this skirt and decided against chopping it since aren't longer hemlines in these days (at least, I hope so because the look is kind of growing on me)?  Secondly: my dissertation, an area of my life clearly benefiting from my lack of friends/social life in DC. Thirdly: my weekend! Christopher's twin brother (and my beloved friend) was in town for the weekend so I took a break from blogging and everything else to spend time with them. Hope you had a great weekend!

Wow - it never would have occurred to me to pair that lovely seafoam-mint with a darker blue, but this looks fantastic! A perfectly fall-appropriate way to wear a pastel color too, which I something I feel like I'm struggling with these days. The green necklace is just the icing on the cake.

I really like the length. I think it makes you look taller, what do you think? I find skirts below the knees make me look short, but this could have something to do with the fact that I'm vertically challenged as it is ... :/

I am crazy about that mint skirt - I'd keep it's hemline as is - I think the demure length compliments it's gentle color.

I'm a fan of longer hemlines for skirts as well! And I love how your necklace somehow pulls off the trick of being both chunky and subtle at the same time. Wow!

This outfit looks very prim, without being prissy. A perfect balance :) And don't you dare hem this skirt, it's wonderful!

i LOVE these colors together and i love your skirt!! keep the long hemline, it looks so classic. it would be so pretty with brown boots and tights once it gets cooler, too.

Yeah, I think this skirt is perfect as is. I really like the mint/navy combination. And congrats on the other "lengthening" things in your life too :)

Gorgeous!! I am loving the blue and mint together!

Wonderful color combination! I think the unusual skirt length makes the outfit a bit more intriguing than it would be with a shorter hemline. My eye is so used to knee-length numbers that I have to stop and linger over this unexpectedly long one!

And then the world exploded because those two hotties were in the same city. :)

I like you in the midi. As a devoted wearer of the style, I fully approve. Also, I like that you're rocking a lot of thrift and hand-me-downs these days. It continues to make us twins, except you're skinnier and w a better butt. :)!

I've been scouring thrift stores looking for a navy blouse recently but have had no luck. I love yours! I may have to break down and buy one full price. Grr. Great look, though!
