Have you seen the movie Contagion? Naturally I'll wait for Annie's assessment before I make my final verdict but it appealed to me as a disaster-movie lover and the spawn of a public health professional and a doctor. Also, I was thrilled that everyone washed their hands extra-carefully in the bathroom afterward because I'm secretly anxious about germs in public places (I blame cancer; I once had a weak immune system so I'm a life-long paranoiac about sanitation). Have you seen it/do you have any other good movie recommendations? Speaking of cancer, do you think 50/50 will be any good?

LOVE THE DRESS!

As usual, I have no idea about the movie your referring to as we seem to be like what feels like a year behind US release dates here in Australia ... but I'll keep an eye out for it.

I saw Contagion this weekend and wasn't too impressed but it sounds like it much more your type of movie than mine! I'm freaked out by most disaster movies and agreed to this one only because my boyfriend seemed really excited about it, as expected I was pretty freaked out by it, especially I work in an elementary school, probably one of the most germy places possible!Aside from being a creepy idea and being a little graphic at times the movie seemed really long to me, but I did think parts of it were very well done. My boyfriend who was so interested in seeing the movie was bored and considered leaving the theater. 50/50 on the other hand looks great! You can't go wrong with a quirky Joseph-Gordon Levitt movie, it looks funny and touching at the same time!
I can't watch Contagion. Since becoming a mom my worst nightmare is the possibility of my dying and leaving my baby, or her passing and trying to live without her. So the preview where the mom dies just kills me!

Not sure if it'll be any good but Matt Damon is in it, so naturally I'll be seeing it. : )

that movie looks real good, but i'd be a little freaked out. things like that always kinda get to me. i'm not scared of dying, but i'm scared of the process, you know? butttt i am excited about 50/50! i love me some charming joseph gordon-levitt.
love that jacket!

dana--yeah, it wasn't very good and yet, that's partly why i liked it! but i have a bizarre fascination with disaster movies/weird thrillers/movies about disease. i hear you on it being too long--christopher called it plodding. also, wasn't the music bizarre? at times it was distractingly bad...but i still enjoyed it.
Because I'm a germaphobe, I'm really scared to see movies like that and get even more freaked out about touching doorknobs and stuff ...
I love your dress -- it's so pretty! And Anne's site is one of my favorites now -- found her on the Hairpin and have been obsessed with her pop culture musings ever since :)
Oh no, I won't be seeing that one. I'm way too paranoid about germs and mysterious diseases.
I refuse to go see it. I get too psyched out about health scares. NO THANK YOU.
I will however be going to see 50/50 because I love both those actors.
I don't see how 50/50 couldn't be great. You look awesome!
I saw Contagion this weekend and thought it was definitly graphic and if you are a germophobe it may make you cringe a bit but it was very interesting and had a good ending! I think 50/50 looks really good! Love your outfit too!
50/50 looks SO good, doesn't it? And by the way, THANK YOU for wearing white after labor day--let's all show that rule up.
I haven't seen the film yet, but I really want to. I know I'll never be able to see it with my boyfriend though, he's already OCD about hand-washing and touching door handles, he'd probably lock himself up in the bedroom for weeks if he saw it XD
Sigh. I miss movie dates.
But I adore your braided bun! And that faded denim jacket is wonderful.
ooooh, I love the flats! They're such a gorgeous color!
I love that you're wearing white after Labor day! Cute!
My husband actually wants to see Contagion in the theatre (it takes a LOT to get us to a theatre), so hopefully it'll be worthless. I'm also not a big Gwenyth Paltrow fan, so I'm slightly pleased that her role is really small.

oh you look fabulous as always! I actually think I'm not germ-phobic enough. My partner is though so I figure he will make up for it with our kids! :)

terri--not only is her role small, it's grotesque! they cut her skull open really graphically (bleeeech) so it's probably kind of cathartic if you really don't like her as an actress.
I love the white dress with the denim jacket. I've been wanting to try a similar look, but it's back to 80 degree temperatures in boston, so I'm going to have to wait 'til it cools down again!

That is a lovely outfit:)
I'm not a fan of health-scare movies at all...
You look super cute! I love that dress.
