One of the best things about being in college was having access to all your friends' clothes and I was lucky to have several friends who were my size and had enviable closets. In particular, my friend Sydney always had fun tops, cool earrings, and the best jeans so I was always borrowing things and later begging her to let me keep them. This shirt was one of the pieces I usurped during college; I love the scooped back and the soft color. Sydney has always been ridiculously generous and permissive of my greedy fingers; over the years, her castoffs have become some of my favorite pieces and when I stayed with her this last Christmas, I walked away with a sweater I've coveted for years and a plaid button-up. Now if only I could get her to move a little bit closer, I might never need to shop again.

I'm a bike-riding bookworm in DC trying to make better use of a sometimes-vanilla closet. You can read a little more about this blog

Wish I lived near you!! You have the most amazing sense of style Tania!!! xxx
I have the same relationship with my mum. Her shoe collection is the best!

I love when clothes find new homes. After purging and organizing my closet this week, I'm sending a HUGE box of stuff to my sister. I think it's nice when you know where things you love go, and imagine that person wearing them--even better than Goodwill.
You lucky duck! It seems that all my friends who are willing to give away clothes are teeny-tiny, so nothing fits me :( oh, the injustice!
oh love sharing clothes too (:
that skirt is adorbs on you!
haha i do the same thing: "are you sureeee you want this back? you've only worn it that one time and it's just so pretty and it could be like a built in birthday gift or something :)" lucky you having friends who are that kind as to just give away half their wardrobe. ha.
i do love the scoop in the back of the shirt and how it matches perfectly with your skirt. pretty pretty :)
I lived in a sorority with 60 other girls and definitely took advantage of the extra closets! I miss it!
I love the low scoop in the back of that shirt. And those wedges are really cute.
I miss that aspect of college more than most. Well, that and the attendant aspect, which was that I could always just walk across the hall to get some honest opinions on whether or not that day's outfit worked. It's just not the same when you ask your hubby!
martina, isn't that the truth! that's what i miss most about living with girlfriends.
Love this outfit-so cute!

That is definitely one of the nicest parts about living with/very near to friends. It was also the worst part of living with my sisters (friends ask nicely and borrow, sisters tend to be more inclined to just take and forget to return!). This top has a beautiful color and neckline and is very flattering on you!
I adore lowbacked anything. One of my favorite things!
I can't wait to finish up my Associates and move on to a four year...I'm envious of those with dorm experiences!
Such pretty colors! I love the pattern of your skirt. Oh, and the button front, *swoon*! I do the same thing to my older sister. She has such great items and I love to borrow from her. Once I even convinced her to buy a shirt so that I can borrow it from her! LOL!
friends like that are the best!
i have an equally stylish and generous best friend who most recently sent me home with about 10 shirts and some other things...
Great look, Tania! Friends like Sydney are the best. I had a few like that in college. I miss living with them! Especially since I don't have any sisters to swap clothes with.
What a nice friend you have! Trading clothes is the best =) Or just borrowing =P
Oooh, I'm digging the skirt pattern so very much. It's really lovely!
I wish I had a friend like that, because I love this look!
