Tribute to Fanciness

works cited: skirt from common crow vintage; target tank and belt; clarks wedges; necklace from summer camp lost & found in high school

Today is my last day on campus for the summer so to uphold my tradition of looking ridiculously overdressed around 40,000 undergrads wearing adidas shorts, I strapped on the only pair of big shoes I packed in my suitcase and and a pretty skirt. I'm finally finished with all my summer grading and what felt like endless revisions on a manuscript I was editing, so feeling a little fancy is well-deserved. I'm also returning to my standard skirt uniform, after the excitement of yesterday's aberration. I'm definitely trying the maxi skirt again, next time taking into account some of your wonderful suggestions.

Such a pretty skirt - and yay for injecting a little fanciness into things. I work the last sentence of my dissertation last night so I totally think today calls for a fancy dress and looking a bit overdressed.

I love your style. The polka dots are very cute and the tank adds a very relaxed and easy feeling to the outfit. When you put an outfit together it looks so effortless. I love it!

Oh man! That skirt! It looks so flowy and awesome. And I love how you matched your belt and shoes...it really brings the outfit together.

Of course, whenever I see something of yours that I want (that I don't already own), it's vintage. That belt is a fantastic touch.

Love that skirt. I have a slight addiction to polka dots, but STILL. Love.

This skirt and outfit overall are both perfection! So great! I feel your pain on being overdressed on campus. But if the alternative is to jump on the tunic-leggings-Uggs bandwagon that plagues my university, I'll take being overdressed any day :)

Maxi, midi, or mini, you certainly know how to rock a skirt! Very inspirational for those of us that seem to be stuck in a dress rut (ahem... me). Love the polka dots. Good luck with the moving, the process is never fun but hopefully the end result will be amazing!

Oh my goodness, we're skirt twins! I bought a similar red polka dot skirt in Austin a few weeks ago.

Hehehe I would pick your outfits over running shorts any day.

My favorite summer item has become my thrifted polka dot skirt. Mine is mint green and will be featured soonish. Love yours though!

I just want you to officially know that Common Crow Vintage (and by CCV I mean, well, I) is truly honored to grace your sex-ay booty for your last day on campus! You look gorgeous and perfectly over-dressed. And those shoes- so perfect to off-set the red and give it a funky vibe.

Have I mentioned that I'm super sad that you're leaving? I think I may have done so. :)

Ha! I wore almost this exact same outfit for my last day on campus, too! (White tank, midi skirt, tan wedges, tan belt). You look effortless and crisp, which is commendable both for a summer on campus and for summer period. Super cute!
