The Blues

I'm thrilled that we found an apartment in D.C., but our lease doesn't start until August 9th, so we're camping out in a place we're house-sitting for another week until we head to our new place. I have to admit that I've been feeling a little blue the past few days what with the upcoming move, leaving friends, and the weird limbo of living out of suitcases. I am hugely grateful that we have a place to stay until our lease starts but it's still a slightly weird feeling to live in another person's space and I'll be so glad to be moved in soon and (let's admit) be reunited with all my books and my bicycle!

Awwww. Well, you certainly don't look like your living out of a suitcase. All the best for the rest of the move ...

I'm seeing bow-tied skirts everywhere. This one will transition great into fall!

Love how the blue paint on the building is echoed in your outfit!

So, what neighborhood are you & Christopher moving to? :)

Moving is such an odd feeling. The excitement of a new chapter in life, and the sadness of leaving the old one behind. I hope your move goes as smoothly as possible!

One time I had to put my books in storage for a few months and it was like Christmas when I finally got to unpack.

Hope the move comes quickly and goes smoothly! : )

I had the same kind of strange week-long wait before the last time I moved; it was an incredibly odd state of limbo. I'm glad for you that you get to get back to your books and bike soon.

Welcome to the District! Would you consider meeting up with your DC fans for a drink sometime? I don't know if you noticed, but we love our happy our here. Like, a LOT. :-)

Welcome to DC! :) I really love that skirt! Sorry to hear you're feeling blue. Moving is always hard, especially when you have to do it in stages. I'm sure once you get settled you'll feel a lot better. :) Good luck!!

I can't wait to see your new place (assuming you choose to share, of course :)- each blogger has their own sense of personal space)!

Love the lace, by the bye.

Adams Morgan is great! And you can walk across the bridge and wander through the zoo in the early morning and see all the animals when they're most active :)

(or, that's what I did when I lived near Adams Morgan... :))

I love that Old Navy top on you--I tried it on in the store and didn't know what I'd wear it with, but this skirt is a great match!

I'm sure that in-between stage is less than ideal, but it will be so fun once you get to move in to your place and explore your new city! Hang in there...

Your outfit is adorable! I might have to go check out those shoes. I love 6pm for a good deal!
