Security Blanket

I've really gotten a style security blanket going this summer with this belt and sandals--between the heat and the lifting of book boxes, I keep defaulting to what is comfortable (and, uh, accessible on the floor of the bedroom). Part of me feels obliged to keep things interesting, but the other (more haggard) part of me is okay with sticking with what's working. At least until we get moved in and I'm not picking my clothes out of a suitcase on the floor :)

It's workin', girl! You look fab!
And you got variety going on (even when picking from your bedroom floor). ;)
When I moved, I wore the same jean shorts and cropped pants for wayyy to long. It was not pretty...

no dude, it works. don't even worry about it. and i like that you paired the shirt with a bright skirt, instead of just a safe neutral, like i'd probably do. like it a lot :)

Lovely little sandals. So at least your security blanket is disguised as cute, and not shower flip flops. I've never done that.Really.

Having just moved cross-country myself, I have to say you look much cuter during the packing/cleaning stage than I did.

So many pieces in my closet are security blankets. If one piece of an outfit is dirty, I have to move along to the next security blanket/outfit option. It works. I feel you.

I feel like all bets are off when you're moving. Heavy lifting requires comfort.

I think it is a good thing to "pick a style" for a bit. I am still obsessed with my Marc Jacobs black quilted handbag, and I have worn it almost everyday for 3 years! I like to think of it as my "sarah" bag.

When I was moving cross country at the beginning of the summer, I felt the same way. Finally, I gave up and just let myself get things done. I wore cut off and a grey tee or a simple black dress as many times as I could before they HAD to be washed. Gross, I know, but it really saved my sanity. Take care of yourself and your to do list first! And, above all, try to enjoy it because you're starting something new and exciting and that is always worth enjoying!

I like that about your blog--it's very real and accessible. I definitely re-wear things many times if it's something I like and feel good in! Plus moving is such a huge pain, I'd keep everything else in life as easy and simple as possible!

Is it ok to let you know when we dont like something? If that's the case, I really really dislike these sandals, they are just... so ugly :(
But thanks for every other awesome pieces & especially dresses!
