Recent Blog Love

Although I read (and love) several super-big blogs by women with their fingers on the fashion pulse, mostly I like to read small- and medium-sized blogs by women with accessible, real-life style because I find they are more easily translatable to my small-town midwestern life right now. Here are some of my recent new favorite blog reads (I keep a more or less updated list of blogs I read here).

the other emily
theotheremily
Emily is an architecture student traveling around Europe with her boyfriend and a single suitcase. Her blog is like a constant 30 for 30; she has whip-smart commentary, gorgeous photos, and enviable remixing abilities.

get dressed
getdressed
Get Dressed is written by a college student and intern at Vogue, so her writing is like magazine copy, and she deftly translates high fashion into campus-ready wear. Girl after my own heart, Katherine also wears a lot of J. Crew. Plus she has adorable bangs.

sidewalk ready
sidewalk ready
Kayley's photography is spectacular and she has such easy-going, wearable style. Plus she has an incredible eye for making classic shapes and color palettes look good.

A few other blogs I've been into lately have been little tin soldier, my closet in sketches, sofull sista, and basic cravings. Do you have any new reads that you love? xo

I can't resist a new small style blog. I prefer them, too, over the larger ones. Thanks for the recommendations!

I agree! I live in Colorado, am a full time family law paralegal and have three kids. Money is tight and so is time to shop. I love to read other blogs similar to my lifestyle and budget. Thanks for the recommendations! I actually already follow these blogs and yours, but it's good to always see how others do it. ;-)

Great post! I am always on the look out for more smaller blogs to read. I agree that they tend to have more accessible style...and more accessible budgets! I hadn't heard of many of these blogs, so thanks for sharing the love!

I understand the appeal of smaller style blogs. I also have no budget, but love to wear fashionable clothes! And I'm big into re-mixing things!

I am totally with you on the med-small blogs. I love that the stuff I see on Kayley and Emily's blogs I can usually re-create with things I already have in my closet!

I also enjoy the blog Love, Ramsey

YOU are also one of my favorite blogs—keep up the good work!:)

I lve all blogs, big and small! I mean their are so many different styles that girls wear that it's nice to be able to see it all! Each girl is different and each style they wear is different.

As a small style blog in the middle of Canada's prairie - I don't have access to a lot of high fashion (or a big budget!) either, so I love the so-called 'accessible blogs'. That's actually why I like your style - stuff I can actually buy and wear.

Thanks for sharing the small blog love!

Well, I too love your blog. It's a daily read! For fashion, I also like Jen loves Kev and The Daybook.

I read a lot of food blogs too. My favorites are Joy the Baker, Pioneer Woman, Smitten Kitchen, and Shutterbean.

I *just* started fashion blogging like, last month, so I'm having a lot of fun finding blogs that I like and being inspired by the girls I read. Besides yours (obviously) I would say that a few of my favorites are A Beautiful Mess, Kristine. Or Polly. and Love, Ramsey.

This is gonna sound creepy: but you are my favorite blogger right now. I found you like 2 weeks ago and I already read half of ur blog archive. Its amazing. I actually told my boy, and quote "I found my fashion soulmate". And its because the same reason you mentioned: you are real.

Anyways: this is my blog

http://normalinnormal.blogspot.com/

Its a blog of two girls living in Normal IL. That dress everything but not normal. We are GA's and our budget its not huge, so i guess everybody can enjoy some low budget fashion! :)

I love Sidewalk Ready! She is one of my regular reads every night (including you, of course!). I'm pretty sure her husband takes her pictures for her (he is a photographer), and you're right--they are awesome! I love her classic style.

Ahh, I love small blogs! You're absolutely right in saying that they typically offer much more ready-to-wear outfit inspirations than the more high fashion blogs. I just love seeing how different ladies of all settings, backgrounds, and body shapes make clothes really work for them! Also, thanks for featuring these bloggers! Now I have 3 new blogs to follow...

one of my favorite blogs is Liz of 26 and Counting. (http://twosixandcounting.blogspot.com/)

Besides the fact that she is blogging from my stomping grounds, she is also a dressing for a 9 to 5 everyday, much like myself.

Her style is both chic and fashionable, while still attainable to those of us that are not walking a runway everyday.

Aw, thanks Tania! I'm so glad our blog-love is mutual - otherwise I'd just feel like a super-creeper. :) I am another big fan of more accessible style blogs, so I am loving these recommendations - I'm already a regular reader of Sidewalk Ready and Little Tin Soldier, but the rest were all new treats to me, so thank you!
