It's still kind of chilly so this little boys' sweatshirt has been my best friend the past few days. It is ludicrously soft marbled gray cotton, a fabric of which my closet cannot seem to get enough. I'm still being shamefully lazy on vacation in Maine, taking walks, baking chocolate chip cookies, watching Christopher kayak from the relative warmth of the shore, and enjoying a big stack of reading material (currently I'm working on Kureishi's The Buddha of Suburbia). I think I've become a porch potato...one step up from a couch potato, hopefully.

I'm a bike-riding bookworm in DC trying to make better use of a sometimes-vanilla closet. You can read a little more about this blog

a porch potato sounds like the perfect occupation to me right now
A porch potato is definitely a step up from a couch potato. In fact, I'd say you are also woefully close to being a beach bum, since you are right there. Which is perfectly acceptable. In fact, I am extremely jealous, both of the fact that you are reading all you want while at the shore and of that sweatshirt, which looks delightful.
i'm literally obsessed with that skirt! soooo cute. and a porch potato sounds blissful.
Love the skirt! Those little front ties have the best slimming effect. Lovely.
saw this and thought you might enjoy it:

a bit pricy but really cute and might make for a fun diy
Heehee, being a porch potato sounds pretty darned good though. I'm actually going kayaking with a friend this evening, I'm pretty excited, but it's scorching hot here so the watery reprieve will be glorious. I hope the heat we've got up here in Ottawa comes down to you soon! (if you want it anyway!)
fresh air makes it sooo much better than a couch potato.
Love that Spotted Moth skirt! And being a porch potato sounds like a pretty sweet gig.

That skirt is super cute, and looks just perfect paired with that sweatshirt. Perfect pairing of casual and dressier denim.

I *love* the framing of this photo -- yellow siding, red hanging buoy, gray outfit, with a peek of porch? Perfection.

Sounds so relaxing! Exactly what you need when you're on holiday!
If you don't mind me asking, Where did you find The Buddha of Surburbia? I've been wanting to read for a very long time. Every time I searched for it, it's been out of print.
The Porch Potato - should be the name of your memoir.

At least you are outside enjoying the sunshine, even if you are being a little lazy. But, that is what vacation is for right?
No matter how many times you wear this skirt, I never tire of it. And I kind of love the fact that your sweatshirt is a little boys' sweatshirt.
