My Boyfriend, the Mosquito Man

I truly believe one of Christopher's most admirable qualities is that he is incredibly attractive...to mosquitoes (and to the human female, incidentally :). Mosquitoes swarm him as if he were an open carafe of blood. In the past, I used to get eaten up by these pesky winged demons no matter how much bug repellent I put on or garlic I ate. But now I have no need for repellent, because my life companion is the pied piper of mosquitoes. We took these pictures next to a creek, where Christopher's biggest fans were swarming around him while I stood, pleasantly free of bites or buzzing. I've never enjoyed my unpopularity so much.

I need to find me one of those! Mosquitos love me, no matter what kind of bug spray I wear.

It's the opposite for me. Mosquitos flock to me, and it seems my husband repels them. He's never worn bug spray and gotten maybe 2 bites in the 10yrs I've known him. I spray myself with anything and everything and get eaten alive.

I love the color combination here, and I'm totally inspired to hack up an old pair of jeans into shorts.

Good to know I know, to get rid of the mosquitoes I have to find a new Boyfriend. ;) I'm in the same boat, I can walk from the car to the house and end up with four mosquito bites. They don't even notice the BF.
I like the color combo you're wearing, the shorts are like the perfect length too.

I used to be a mosquito magnet, too. When I lived in Arkansas, I swear I could get bitten in November and February by the one mosquito in the county.

We don't have them as badly where I live now, and I've gone a few summers without a single bite. It's heavenly.

Love the color combo in this outfit!

Poor Christopher! Well you know what that means, his blood is just as sweet as him!

You look like you're ready for summer in those shorts! :D

It's the opposite for my husband and I - the mosquitos LOVE me. He insists that he hasn't had a mosquito bite since we met, haha.

Your combo of blue and orange is so pretty! This is a perfect summer outfit.

The buttons on that cardigan are so cute and I love how delicate the sandals are! I attract mosquitoes like crazy, I blame my awesome Norwegian circulation.

Mosquitos used to love me but I think they have pretty much taken all they've wanted during the years that they do not come around anymore. Thank goodness!
I like the casual relaxed outfit.... very no fuss, no muss!

ahh, i totally know how christopher feels - in my native NC, i was always the mosquito magnet attracting the swarms away from all my friends! fortunately, in my new home city of seattle, mosquitoes are practically non-existent. i love how you've cut off these jeans, and if it ever gets warm enough here for shorts (come on 70 degrees!), i just might have to hack some of my own :)

Love the color mix-- orange and blue is probably my favorite spring color combination.

My mom is our family's mosquito attracter, which means that, when we were children, she thought we would need just as much bug spray as she did. I remember getting doused head-to-toe in so much stuff that my skin would be sticky from it. Yech.

LOL, poor guy! I know how he feels!

I'm wishing that my husband were attractive to mosquitoes, but of the two of us, they prefer me. And we live in Florida, which I think is their home base for the entire world.

This is a great casual outfit - I love the orange and blue together. I may be copying this this weekend :)

I wonder who would win if he and I were outside with a bunch of mosquitos... I'm a serious mosquito magnet. Everyone loves being outdoors with me around, and I'm usually the only one in a group who gets COVERED in bites.

I am the one people enjoy being around because they are no longer the person to get eaten up by mosquitoes. I went for a walk in the woods with my brother way back in the day. I ended up with 77 mosquito bites (yes I counted... with the help of a mirror for my back.)

Oh my goodness, you write so well. That was so witty and clever-- perfect example of the concise blog form.
