More Stripeys

works cited: lands end canvas dress; thrifted belt and jacket; volcom sandals; bangle from christopher

On my hunt for a great striped dress, Dot suggested this one from Lands End Canvas. I really like it and have worn it several times on the weekend previous to this vacation (just not yet when we had a camera ready). This particular morning it was perfect for a trip out to breakfast and for a walk with my grandparents. Later, we picked up still-feathered eggs from a nearby farm and I surreptitiously devoured an entire pint of raspberries in the backseat of the car while nobody was looking. I should feel a little guilty but they were so juicy and perfect that I couldn't stop after just one.
[Endnote: I'm generally not crazy about William Carlos Williams, but I love this poem just because it reminds me of my own weakness in the face of fresh fruit.]

Lands End has been churning out some great stuff lately and your dress is a perfect example of that.

This outfit is the PERFECT vacation on the coast outfit. I love how casual and chic you look! Like you're about to go to a wine tasting, followed by collecting shells on the beach in your bare feet. Dig it.

I feel the same way about that poem. I taught it to my high school kids and they thought I was crazy.

I looove raspberries so I do not blame you at all haha. Part of me wants to see your whole stripey wardrobe all at once, but that might be rather daunting.

celynne--i should take a photo sometime...i'd probably be horrified at myself!

My 6-year-old eats berries by the pint/quart. As soon as we get them in the house, she gobbles them right up. No shame in that!!!

I absolutely adore Lands End. I feel like it is comparable to J Crew, but usually at a more affordable price! Love love love the look!

You look like you were just plucked out of a J.Crew catalog.

Tania, I just love your dress! I even looked to see if Land's End Canvas UK have it in stock but sadly not ;-) It looks gorgeous on you - and you look so radiant and beautiful. The holiday glow!

I've really been enjoying the Lands End Canvas line. The striped dress looks great on you!

I love that poem. It was one of my students' favorites and her passion for it got me to like it. Have you read Love That Dog? Simple children's book (super quick read), but just lovely.

thanks, angela! i haven't read the book, i'll definitely try to check it out, thank you for the recommendation!

I've loved that poem since I first read it 15 years ago in 8th grade. I'm the same way with fruit.

Love the stripes, love the poem. And Lawdy Lawd your posts make me want to visit Maine! It's a rainy grey day in the West, but a wet desert just isn't the same as the Maine coast. :)
