In Which I Had the Best Weekend Ever

best weekend ever

This weekend, I went up to Chicago with Christopher and while he was in meetings all day, I met up with Emily of sartoriography and had one of the most hilarious, fun days I've had in ages. It was friendship at first sight--I haven't met many people who can talk about maxi dresses and Derrida with the same aplomb in the same breath.

best weekend ever

Among our adventures was a trip to h&m, where we discovered these bizarre neon orange jumpsuits. [Side-note: only in h&m do they actually put stuff like this on the mannequins and try to sell them, I swear.] Naturally, we thought if we added fedoras and clunky clogs, these jumpsuits would be blog-worthy, but I'll let you be the judge :) Personally, I think the belt pulls the whole thing together.

best weekend ever

Emily, I had the best time with you! Thank you for being the best tour-guide/maxi-dress-pusher/Powell's-bookstore-companion/wine-at-lunch-drinking/photo-taker-on-a-windy-train-platform ever.

I grew up a book nerd in Portland, and went to undergrad about an hour outside Chicago, and I never knew there was a Powell's there! Gah!

You girls look great!

I love maxi dresses, but I despise Derrida and all the postmodern twats! Long live liberal humanism! ;)

Yeah! Theory and fashion! Did you discuss Phenomenology by any chance? That's my favourite theory :)

Oh, H&M, so weird. How did THEY style those? Because you guys are hilarious like stylish Brooklyn beekeepers, but I doubt that was the desired effect.

You're eternally my favorite nerdy-pants, ridiculously stylish blogger sister. Now, please come back immediately.
