There is a really, really good barbecue place only a few blocks from where I live. And by "good," I mean really addictively good. The only problem is that other people know about it now--lots and lots of other people--and it's insanely crowded at all manner of hours. So Christopher and I have taken to going for what we call "geriatric dinner" around...4:30. It is slightly embarrassing to show up when 85-year-olds eat dinner but there is certainly no shame in being the first to get to the limited quantities of mac and cheese, am I right?

Those yellow flats!! You know i love them Tania!! Xxx
LOVE your top and matching shoes and purse sweetie! such fun colors!!
No shame--Jake and I eat around 5:00 every single night. Something about that work schedule of getting up before 7 and to sleep around 10 just makes geriatric dinnertime work...
I have that clutch, too!! I love it! I am not ashamed of the fact that I have gone to places with super yummy food at oddball hours to beat the rush. When it comes to food, there is no shame in my game!!! ; )
That is awesome. Gotta do what you have to in order to score amazing food sometimes! I love that dress....almost picked it up at Tarjay the other day but am crossing my fingers & toes hoping it will go on the sale rack soon! I just can't bring myself to buying full priced clothing anymore.
We just got a Freebirds in my town, and the line is ridiculous - my coworker and I just said that we were going to plan on getting our burritos at 10:30 am to avoid the lunch crowd...can't see anything wrong with what you're doing ;)
Love this dress every time I see it - especially enjoy seeing how EVERYone wheres it in such different ways!

the granny dinner time rule does not exist when it's time to eat good food ;-)
There's no shame in the occasional geriatric dinner...and I love the dress, so pretty!

Mmmm BBQ, I just discovered a pretty good place close to my house.
Love the dress and how you styled it. Simple, yet fashionable.

We eat supper at 4:30 almost every night! I love it. Because then when 8 p.m. rolls around, I'm ready for ice cream, cookies or s'mores!
you look so pretty in that dress with your hair like that :)
Totally worth going that early. My fiance and I do that all the time. Usually means better service too.
Also, as usual love the outfit :)

I love that dress! And I totally go out to eat that early sometimes too :)
You always look adorable in this dress! The colors look fantastic on you and the yellow shoes are just darling.
Geriatric dinner? Ha ha! You crack me up. I love your yellow flats also.
When mac 'n cheese is on the line, I say eat it early and get all you can. I always eat around 4 or 5...mostly because I love food and can't wait to eat dinner every night.

I've loved that dress since you first posted about it! I like how you paired it with the yellow flats. Unfortunately yellow is NOT a good color on me, even though I love it so.... perhaps I could pull it off on shoes!
The last year I've taken to going to bed on Friday nights by 11pm. You're doing just fine :-)
Better Than a Milk Mustache
There's no shame in an early dinner! I also just saw someone wearing that dress this morning, and all I could think was, "hey! That's Tania's dress!"
love the outfit. andddd maybe you should get AARP subscription too?
jk of course.
I love your outfit!! And if there's limited quantities of Mac and Cheese then you must go early enough to get some! No shame in that! :)
You look beautiful!!!
The best part about eating dinner at 4:30 is second dinner at 8.
You look absolutely lovely in this dress, Tania!
Nothing wrong with a little early dinner to beat the crowds...specially when it includes Mac & Cheese!

Haha if you've gotta go at that time, you've gotta go.
Love that dress.

I guess I am a total nerd too 'cuz I would totally wear that ;) You rock that dress, girlie!!
Such a colorful outfit! The flats are so cute; I want a pair of my own!
And oh, the things we'll do to get delicious food. Better to have eaten awesome barbeque with a strangely much older crowd than to have never eaten at all.
i do the same thing for my favorite places, go to dinner before 6pm. and, a popular brunch place in our 'hood gets frequented by us right when they open at 8am. i don't like waiting for my food!
There is no ounce of shame, girl, when macaroni is involved. That's all there is to it. And who can be ashamed when she looks so good, anyway? :)
I just started reading your blog, and I absolutely love it! Your outfits are fantastic!
anonymous--wow, thank you so much!! that's so sweet of you to say, i will glow with pride all evening now :)
I love the yellow flats! I have a thing for yellow right now :) My boyfriend always makes fun of my "granny outfits" haha.

Geriatric dinners are the best!

Nope ... like Seth (from The OC) once said, you should embrace your inner old person. Early dinners, early nights, great excuse to do nothing (ie being old) ...
Whenever I visit my mom we do geriatric dinner. I kind of love it!
Hey, there ain't no shame in enjoying tasty meats... ;-)
bah ha ha. geriatric dinner. hey you gotta do what you gotta do to get your mac. i approve. ((i also approve of the print on that dress.)) <3 EverRubyGirl.blogspot.com
bahahaha that is a totally ok time to get dinner if it involved good food you wouldn't get other wise! That doesn't make you old at all! and you rock that Target dress.
