Pencil It In

Pencil It In
works cited: thrifted vintage skirt; thrifted wedges; target belt; gap shirt

This black wool pencil skirt was another find this weekend at the thrift store. I seem to find one or two of these almost every time I go thrifting--not always in my size, but always in beautiful thick wool in perfect condition and when they fit they are made for girls with hips, which I appreciate. Because wool-skirt-season is nearing a close, wearing this made a cool morning a bit more bearable after a gorgeous, hot weekend.

I wish that I could find a black wool pencil skirt...you look awesome!

Again, love the longer skirt length. Are you riding in that skirt? I *cannot* ride in a skirt. Maybe I need to get an easier ride. My vintage 10-speed must be just too fast for skirts... :P

It can be so hard to make a black, woolen, pencil skirt not look overly stuffy and formal, but I think that with the color mixing (by adding in brown and tan) and the casual top really made this work. Lovely!

Love the belt! And I'm so jealous that you found those wedges at the thrift store, I've never been able to find shoes in good conditions at any of my stores.

Love this clean, simple look. I have no hips so those thrift store wool skirts never fit me! Wah.
