Today, it was winter in April. Cold and windy and dark and horrible. But I'm feeling reeeaaaally done with winter, and consequently I froze my kneecaps off pretending it was warmer than it actually was. This is a little more autumnal than I'd like to be wearing in the latter half of April, but this sunny yellow dress was a pretty good pick-me-up for a seriously chilly spring day, which I spent most inside reading Woolf's The Pargiters (not her best, but interesting in its own way).
P.S. How funny is that (accidentally matching) yellow window?

I LOVE the feather print on that dress. I MUST get something with a feather print on it!
I'm so with you on being over winter. This spring has been miserable! And our 10 day forecast is so DEPRESSING!!!
I like the way you tied the dress' belt around the cardigan, it ties everything together really well.
loooove this dress! :)
love how you wrapped the sash over the cardigan. Your so creative.
That is a real cute dress and you look AWESOME in it! :)

I ordered this dress and sent it back because it seemed too ... flimsy? If that makes sense. But it looks really cute the way you've put it together. I can't wait to see how you wear it in the summer.
Hmm do you just take off the sash and put it on top of your cardigan?
Just Better Together
justine--yes, it's super simple! just take it off and tie it around. ronnissweettooth--i know, the fabric is a bit of a different weight than i was expecting--i don't know if i imagined it woolier or something :) but it hangs really nicely and will be surprisingly light for summer days, i think.
Man. I'm always so nervous to do the sock-under-boot trick. You make it look so dang easy and stylish. I love it.

I love that dress! It's been off-and-on spring-like here, too. You're not alone! Keep the knee-high boots out until the weather hits 80, I say.

I love the golden color of your dress. Also the print is adorable! It been cold here in NYC too. I think we've only had 2 really warm days so far.
Complex Cardigans
I love the colors in this outfit, and that "accidental" window... adorable. Gray and yellow are so classy. As usual, I also love your boots.
I love that dress! It's been nasty in Edmonton too! It keeps melting then snowing... I've given up on dressing for the weather!
Nice, unexpected color combination! Completely agreed with the commenters saying the dress's sash on top of the cardi ties it together well.
I've been lurking around for awhile and just wanted to say that I love your blog. Also, that dress looks adorable on you and that building (with its matching yellow window!) is an excellent backdrop.
You're lucky you didn't get any snow. It snowed 6-ish inches in my area, which is so sad because last week I received the new shoes I ordered, but decided to wait until a draft of my thesis was done to wear them (reward time!). Well, the draft is done, but now I can't wear them because of the snow...
Oh I bought this dress but sadly had to send it back. The top was too big on me and the color did not blend with me :) LOVE it on you though. Cute styling!
Just saw this on Spotted Moth's blog... Love your idea of wearing the dress's sash overtop the cardigan! It really pulls everything together so nicely =).

That's crazy. I saw this dress just today in a little independent shop near my house. I was tempted to try it but then I remembered how terrible I look in too much yellow. Looks fabulous on you!
I echo your sentiments on winter. In fact I just literally blogged about how miserable I am about it all.
I think it was worth it. You look amazing! I love thing to match... And you even match with the backdrop. Amazing!!!

I am completely over winter, too, but it is SO not over me. I grudgingly wore tights today.
Such a lovely print on that dress!

I love how you perfectly match your background!
What a seriously cool photo location. And that dress is freaking GORGEOUS. I'm wearing a dress today, too. Even though it's only like 60 degrees.

I was totally going to mention the window-dress coordination. It's the second thing I noticed (after your gorgeous dress).

i LOVE this dress! the color/print are really neat. i like how you used the sash to belt outside the cardigan ... very clever! :)
ha, I totally thought you planned it. I cant complain where I am at it is so hot we had to run through the sprinklers to cool off. Lots of fun.
What a pretty dress--I love how you're doing the sash on the outside of the cardigan. And how nice of the house to coordinate you!
