Twice As Nice

Twice as Nice

Twice as Nice

Works Cited
dress: target
belt: j crew
pumps: urban outfitters
blazer: banana republic

Why yes, this is the same bright magenta floral dress I wore yesterday. I've got to get my money's worth, so starting out with a bang and wearing it twice in a row seemed like the way to go (fingers crossed I don't run into many of the same people today). Sometimes I feel that variety is overrated--I find that I like wearing the same piece six times in a row and then moving on to obsessively wear something else. It helps me be creative with something new in my closet...even if I risk looking unwashed.

Hey, I love seeing bloggers were their clothes more than once, because it's very inspiring! It's amazing that you came up with two completely different ways to style just one dress, so don't feel weird about your awesome styling skills! After all it's a really gorgeous dress and as you told, you have to get your money worth!!!! :D I love so so this stylish blazer and your tights! That's what I call chicness!!! :D :D You have gorgeous hair too! How did you made it? It's so so beautiful! :D :D
Take care!

I am a big fan of this treatment of a new item! The last new Anthropologie skirt I got was worn three days in a row, though I'll confess only in slightly different ways. Love the dress on you!

I tend to wear the same things close together too, usually in the same week and often two days in a row. It's so nice to hear others do this too.
I find it's easier to remix just a few items in this way and it's much more fun for me.

Paige (Final Clothes-Out) said...

I tend to do the same thing, especially with a new cardigan. I'll wear it several days in a row, skip a day, wear it for a few more days... It's like I'm too excited to wear my other clothes.

I REALLY love this outfit! All the black-and-white-movie shades of grey really make the dress pop! It reminds me of the movie Pleasantville when little bits of colour start appearing in random places. :) So cute!!!

Sometimes I REALLY have the urge to wear something twice in a row. I've gotten to the point where I've started doing it because when inspiration strikes, you have to strike back. This color is absolutely lovely on you by the way. And I really love it with the grey on bottom.

And it looks fabulous yet again! I like how you switched out the belt.

I, too, love to wear new things for a few days in a row (friday, saturday and sunday), but typically I don't even restyle it...I guess you're not as lazy as I am. :)

I actually love that you work the same dress twice in a row - the two outfits are really different and both fabulous, and I think that having them be back-to-back really emphasizes how different the two looks are. Love it!

Erica said...

I love this dress! And the two outfits with it are completely different.

I do the same thing. I frequently wear items multiple times in the space of a few days before moving on. I'm trying to not do it and save it for the next 30 for 30, but you are so right to be remixing all the time.

I say wear the new dress as much as you want. I bought new shoes on Friday, and have worn them every day since then. Eventually I'll get past the infatuation stage with them and settle into a deeper, committed love, but for now, I'm wearing them until someone tells me to stop.

I do that all the time too! I get obsessed with something, wear it 5 different ways, then get bored with it and move on for a while. You look adorable, and good for you for coping to it!

hehh!i completely agree!especially when it's a recent buy , i find myself wanting to wear it every day in a million different ways to make sure it is not another item that will stay hidden in my closet forever! :)
and i love your hair!

ps) and thumbs up you totally conquered over blazers!

love the monochromatic look with your legs...they look about a mile long! the colors are cool.
and i really, really love that you're wearing it two days in a row...totally something i would do when i buy new items!! i'm not alone!

Yep. Love it just as much the second day!

Whenever I love something, I always wear it like 5 times in a row too. To different events with different people. Love that you do the same!

You look great! I always wear new items repeatedly when I'm excited about them.

I love this dress and I have been debating buying it online since Sunday. I'm a little concerned about how poofy the sleeves look - do you find that they stick out from under cardigans? It looks great on you and I can't tell that the sleeves are big in your two outfits, but I'm just paranoid.

Also, the sizing says it's for juniors. Would you recommend sizing up?

I love that you matched the tights and shoes! I get the same way - sometimes I just WANT to wear something over and over!

I actually love it MORE the second day...and I LOVE your shoes. I've been looking for some more neutral pumps.

I really like the dress and blazer but when I saw the tights and how they seamlessly blend with the pumps, well that is just perfection! I love it. I never have any luck matching my tights to shoes.

This post made me laugh, because I feel like I often get hooked on a piece and wear it over and over again! I also did the 30x30 challenge, and I feel like it only encouraged this sort of behavior. :)

This dress is lovely! I love the styling :) and I'm totally a repeater to so woohoo!

twice in a row is twice as nice!! I adore the dress and today's combo is even better! Adore it. Often I feel so great in a piece that I want this feeling over an over again!!So rock that dress, over and over again :)

Excellent choice, you are driving down the price per wear that way~

that dress is so cute it deserves to be worn for days! p.s. if you haven't taken the exams you were writing about yet- good luck!! :) you'll be awesome

You don't look unwashed. Far from it! I love how your tights and pumps are such a close match that they lengthen your legs big time. The blazer makes you look like you mean business in a floral frock and a ballerina bun. Who can resist you in this?

Sarah said...

I love this look! But, then again, I'm partial to blazers

Bridget said...

Love the grey tights+grey shoes! and the dress is, of course, amazing. =]

Celia said...

Man oh man do you look sleek and put together! The grey tights and pumps make your legs look miles long - way to step away from the much more typical black shoes/black tights combo!

I am the same way girl. I feel more comfortable with a limited wardrobe. Too many choices is a bad thing!

Love the gray tights/gray shoes looks... like wearing nude heels, but better!

i love wearing a piece multiple days in a row and then moving on to another piece. i feel like my style is a little all-over-the-place sometimes, so it helps me feel grounded.

i love that you wore the same dress two days in a row! i've always wanted to try that and see if anyone noticed ... my campus is very small, so chances are someone would and think i was up to no good the night before ... ha!

Midwest Mayhem said...

I really like the way you styled this dress yesterday, but I have to admit it looks absolutely smashing with the grey tights and heels!

Rosemary Brennan said...

Nothing wrong with repeating! I did today and unfortunately ran into someone I had lunch with yesterday. Whoops! And adore your blazer and floral dress combo. Is the dress Tucker for Target? I *really* wanted to like that collection but nothing from it fit me quite right. I'll just have to appreciate it on others, I suppose!

Gabby / Gypsy*Diaries said...

Haha! Who cares... and honestly you remixed it perfectly so I can hardly tell it's the same dress... I love how your shoes and tights are almost the same color... it's blending together perfectly!

Love the dress and love the fact that you publicly admitted to wearing things twice in a row. Sometimes I go so far as thrice in a row! Work it!

Oops forgot to mention this in the first comment but I L - O - V - E the monochrome scheme of the tights and the pumps.

When I commented the other day, I thought I couldn't justify this dress for professional on-campus wearing. But, you and E. at academichic have convinced me otherwise. I just purchased it online--thanks!
