The winter 30 for 30 is behind me, but it's still not spring, so I'm still reaching for wool sweaters and tights. Sometimes I find it overwhelming to have free reign in my closet after the 30 for 30, so this outfit feels like dipping my toes into the pool of the rest of my clothes (in other words, I'm keeping it simple to start). I've also been obsessing (and I mean seriously obsessing) over EmersonMade's spring line--the clothes are simple, beautifully styled, and timeless. While I may not have a sunny porch on a New Hampshire farmhouse (or the springy weather in those pictures), I can channel some of the pared-down silhouettes and beautiful neutrals into my winter outfits. Plus, like any outfit worth its salt, this one is really comfortable and warm for a day of work at the kitchen table.

i feel the same way. i want to ditch all my winter clothes, but since it's still so overcast here... i keep coming back to them/

the springs in england are supposed to be amazing... and after all this wait, they better live up to the hype!

Yes, it's a bit overwhelming to have a full closet after the 30x30 but it is so nice to have that freedom again!

Beautiful rich neutrals here, indeed. I'm really kind of freaking out over the lighting you guys captured in this shoot, though. That first photo is ART.

I know how you feel. I'm currently living in Mexico with a much smaller, more casual closet, and I fear what will happen when I return to everything packed away in storage. Will I stare at it all completely paralyzed or will I want to wear shoes on my hands and feet to wear as many as possible? Only time will tell...

I have a very similar skirt as this one, and I wear it all the time. I love the shape! Is it just me or does a scarf make an outfit instantly feel chic?

I absolutely love Emersonmade. She even makes skirts with POCKETS!!! Her clothes are classic, but relaxed and comfortable. Unfortunately, college student budgets do not have room for Emersonmade. Sigh.

I adore your outfits. You always look nice, but comfortable. As a soon-to-be college-grad and (crossing fingers)graduate student, I admire your style.

Ha, yes, I know what you mean! I just finished the 30 for 30 this weekend, and I'm playing it super safe this week (mostly tank tops, cardis, and jeans) because it's too overwhelming, having so many options!

Emerson Made is amazing. I could own everything from all of their collections and still crave more. They're just so great! You look like you have jumped out of one of their look books today.

I really like the scarf with your outfit. It gives it a little more oomph. I really like the red robin dress at EmersonMade. It's just way out of my price range.

I love this outfit! And I feel your pain, it's still too cold here in Ontario to fully break out the skirts, with too much snow to not wear boots.

I think the colors of the scarf and boots really balance this outfit out. It looks really comfy and chic all at once, which is the best way to go!

I have a mildly inappropriate girl crush on Emerson. If I were to run into her on the street it would surely degenerate into a hyperventilating, fan-girling mess. Definitely a worthy source of style cues!

Wooohoooo!!! Congrats for completing a challenge... I kinda did it as well, but to be honest I wore yammies most of the last 30 days! :D
