After a decadently lazy spring break, Monday has been a rude awakening--a lot of papers to grade, appointments, meetings, paper assignments to conjure up, and overdue reading. And while my mind is full throttle back to work, my outfit is evidently less cooperative with the workweek. When I uploaded these photos, I realized how loose and drapey all these clothes are. Which made me realize: this outfit is accidentally pajamas in disguise. I'm hoping my closet gets its act together tomorrow, because pajamas, whether disguised or not, don't quite cut it for teaching.

ooooo I love how nerdy and studious you look here!! Soooo cute!! I want some fake glasses STAT!
I think this looks great! Maybe not as polished as your usual look - but I think it's still teaching appropriate! :)
love stripes!great and chic outfit!
I saw those Loft trousers online and love them. I think this outfit looks great on you. Not at all like pj's!

I actually love this entire outfit because it is drapey and loose. It looks like you were trying to look chic but not to hard...perfect!
Well if they're jammies they are PJ Chic.
Ooh but I love this outfit! You look effortlessly chic and put together (not to mention comfy ;) Love it.
I would have never thought of pajamas when looking at these pictures! You look great!

pajamas in disguise! it doesn't get any better than that. comfort won over fashion on my blog today, too :)
If this is what your pjs look like then WOW! Great outfit.

You look chic, even in PJ's! I love the striped top! XOXO, www.NatalyasCloset.com
This outfit is just about the perfect casual ensemble. Comfy pants? Striped shirt? Adorable specs? Check, check, check!
Every time I see these pants I think to myself that I should try to find them. They look great!
I don't even know what your talking about - that looks perfectly okay for teaching! Haha, most of my TA's/profs look even less professional than that. Although your outfit certainly looks comfy, it still looks put together and the color pallet leads to a level of formality.
Belt = not pajamas.
: P
hmmm... i actually think this looks fabulously chic! if I passed by you I definitely wouldn't think "pj's" - I'd think, "i like that. must try to re-create."
Except I dont think this outfit is loose/drapey at all! The trouser jeans are super chic, and the striped shirt is a perfect fit. :) I love this actually!

I don't this outfit looks like pajamas at all although it does look super comfortable. Casual and very chic!
When I saw the title I wondered which thing was pajamas lol. I love clothes that are super comfy, and stylish. You pull off an open front cardigan well.

I LOVE this outfit!!!

this is totally teaching appropriate.
great look.
Nicely done. These are the most chic pajamas in disguise I've ever seen!
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
Pajamas or not, this looks so cute, and those legs...they go on for days...!
This look might feel as comfortable as pajamas, but it's way cuter than what I wear to bed...although I do love stripes enough to want to wear them all day and night! Those pants look great on you!
Long legs much?!
Pajama clothes are the bestest!!
You look so cool and all je ne sais quoi comme les Parisiennes.
Proof that I haven't gone to Target in too long.
I think you look very put-together, not like you're wearing PJs at all! I say if you can get away with being this comfortable, keep doing it. You look dressy enough to teach for me.
Of course, you could always get some suitjamas: http://suitjama-up.com/home.html
This doesn't look at all like jammies silly! I think you look fabulous, relaxed, chic, and of course comfortable =)
You look so chic! Not at all pajama-y!
My secret pajama clothes are a jersey dress and cardigan. Everyone thinks I am dressed up when really I am wearing the jersey dress because it is way more comfortable than pants!
Every time I feel like I am dressing way too comfortable for teaching/reference I just have to find a few undergrads in the library- the sweats and Ugg boots remind me that I do look somewhat more professional than they do!!
Psh...this outfit is too hip to be pajamas. I love it!
I love the trousers. I need a pair of my own. Oh and could you be any cuter in those glasses?

Wow the pants make you look really tall!!! =) Very chic!

OH I beg to differ - my favorite teaching outfit is a hooded sweaterdress that is totally like wearing a bathrobe but perfectly presentable with a belt (I hope?!). :D You look adorable back in the grind!
It's funny, as I was scrolling down the post I was thinking how well the straight leg pants suit you - definitely not pajamas! They make your legs look a mile long. To me, this looks more professional than the tight pants or skinny jeans you often show on this blog - those frequently read pretty young to me, where these look like actual trousers. Funny how perceptions differ....
I love this look! As a grad student myself, this looks like the perfect studying outfit - comfortable but still chic. And I'm also totally obsessed with those glasses!

as soon as i saw the first pic i thought "tania is so freakin' cute!"
and you are madam, love this it's perfect for the monday after spring break!
the bottom kind of pulls it together! I like the outfit but I understand if it feels too drapey. Still cute though!
sunshinepearls.blogspot.com
oh my gosh I love this look! The drapeyness makes you look super tall, and the bun too :) I'm glad you had a nice spring break. Hopefully teaching won't be too crazy or hectic tomorrow!
I think this looks classic and simple. It could easily be dressed up to be the Victor/Victoria of pajamas. I say pajamas are good for everything. Not to mention, this outfit makes you look super tall and accentuates your slender-i-ness. I vote keep it. :)

It doesn't look too loose. I kinda like the silhouette actually
Oh and a lovely new template! Looks really cute
Tania! How amazing this new blog layout! =D I must say I love pajamas and your outfit doesn't look 'loose' or 'pajamas-like'. You look dorky and cute =)
xoxo
Drapey doesn't mean that your look isn't pulled together! I think you look great as always and that belt is just the right touch for the look!
Rochelle
oh you're adorable! you are rocking those horizontal stripes!
I like this, it's cute :) and your new layout looks amazing! :)
But your pj's have panache, not like the pajama jeans on tv.

yep. i totally love this. totally love it :)
You look so adorable AND happy! I love the new layout!

New layout-related: I LOVE the new look, but the font in the text part of your posts is really hard to read if you are using Chrome as a browser (it's much easier on the eyes in Firefox and IE). I don't want to be a complainer, but I love reading your blog and would be so sad if I had to stop reading it because of text-induced headaches!
But you're wearing a belt! Nobody puts big belts on their PJ's. Your outfit is safe! I think you look very teacher-y like this actually, although that's probably the glasses and hair speaking to me.
steph--thank you so much for the feedback, i really really appreciate it! i'll see what i can do :)
that's it. i'm getting new wearble pajamas ASAP. you look fahhhhhbulous--so nerdy (word used in the most positively construed way possible), so chic, so comfortable, so hip. beautiful!
