I know the tights with open-toed sandals trend has really lost its deviant edge, but this is the first time I've tried it and I actually love the way it looks and found it a lot less dorky than I had potentially imagined it. Plus I'm dying for sandals but it is still tights weather around here, so combining the two was a good spring compromise. I was also in the mood for a loose, tunic-y dress (something I don't really have in my closet because I mostly choose dresse that highlight my waist) so this dress from gap--unbelted--was the only thing that fit the bill. My sister and I bought each other these Gap dresses two Christmases ago for $9 apiece, so every time I wear it, I smile thinking of the two of us standing in line with identical dresses to gift to each other. Rachie, I miss you! xoxo

P.S. A few other ways I've worn this dress.

WOW! So many beautiful ways to style a little black dress! Very inspiring! My faves are the fourth, the two last ones, and this one! You're amazing and very creative!
Anyway, to the outfit: I looooove this trench! It's so classy and gorgeous! Amazing tights too, I too like how they look with the sandals :) You pull off this trend greatly! :D You're an awesome blogger, Tania!!! Btw, I adore your name! :D
The dress story is great; me and my sister only got as far as giving each other the same night gown. About the outfit, I love, love, love the wedges!
what a versatile little dress. i like it.
Aah, I love a good deal! Good work on finding something so versatile for so cheap.
I love the combination of the scarf, trench and dress.

I really like the detail on the cardigan. I haven't tried tights with open toe shoes. But, it looks cool so I think I will. Thanks for the inspiration.

Cute!
I like the dress unbelted. Also socks with sandals? Not sure I could ever try it but you pulled it off!

Love the story behind the dress. It adds so much meaning to an article of clothing. =)

Bravo for giving the sandals and tights look a try
I am too nervous to try it
Don't think anyone would get it at all

aw demy, thank you!!!
cayla--i think the wedges are okay but not amazing. for some reason, they don't elongate my leg as much as i would like and i am still working on breaking in the leather on one toe. i don't know that i'd go for them again, but they are comfy (clarks) and will hold up well. maybe i just have to keep breaking them in--they are a classic shape and style so they have good closet longevity.
I just bought a new pair of open toe sandals today and was pondering whether i could get away with wearing them with tights! you have opened the door! now i just need to get the nerve to do it LOL
I wore my booties with tights today for the first time (usually just wear them with pants) it was empowering! maybe tights and sandals are next!
i heart your blog btw!
the sweater is lovely <3. great color, shape, flower detail - that's a closet super-star.
the trench looks great. dress definitely versatile.
but there is something about tights and sandals that doesn't quite click for me. i'm old fashioned : sandals in summer, boots in winter. tights with boots....
I love this outfit! It's great seeing all the ways you've styled that dress. You look lovely!
Coool! I just discovered this blog and how perfect is it for me?? I've been trying to figure out how to style my own gray tights and for some reason didn't think of sandal heels. Also, I totally have some blue tights like those that haven't ever seen the light of day after leaving their mother shop. TO THE OUTFIT LAB!
o tanya really i enjoy so much reading your posts! and may i say that i m an even greater coward in the tights- open shoes topic! :)
glad to see you did it so well! maybe i ll try it as well!!
wow, that sweater is beautiful! love it.
