Gred?

Works Cited--Outfit 10
skirt: vintage, thrifted
striped tee: urban outfitters
belt: mommed
scarf: the pashmina store online
tights: (i've had since high school, probably 1999 j crew)
boots: steve madden

I am a little wiped out by this week and there's a lot more coming my way next week, so I'll keep it short and sweet today. Sometimes I find inspiration in unlikely places--the other day, I saw a girl at the gym with bright red shorts and a gray tee and I found myself smitten with the color combination, so I recreated it for teaching (in slightly less sporty shapes). Now I think gray + red (gred?) is my new favorite mix--it's pretty without trying too hard...at least, I hope so!

Gray + red is one of my favorite color combos.
I do Red + black a lot too. I just wear a lot of red.

I find myself constantly wearing this color combo... which probably has a lot to do with the fact I'm a student at OSU!

Red and gray were my high school colors. Often pair them together particularly in the winter.

OOooh I really like this outfit! I like how the skirt fits you, and the tiny red stripes are too cute. Hope you have a relaxing weekend! xo

Love the stripes. Ok, so is that skirt actually a paperbag waist, or did you just hike it up a little and wrap the belt around it tightly to create that waist? I've been trying to do that, but it always just looks like...well, like I just hiked it up a little and wrapped the belt too tightly. :P

I associate red and grey with several collegiate institutions, especially Ohio State, so it's actually a color combo that I tend to avoid. It looks great here, though!

Gred is pretty fantastic. I just discovered gredlow (gray-yellow-red) and I'm pretty excited about it. I think the stripes make the whole combo work.

Lovely color combination.
I just linked you on my blog as a person who I feel does a great job incorporating color into a neutral palette. You proved me right :)

I also love red and grey together too. I like to pair my favourite bright red dress with a grey blazer and I put the red belt from the dress over the blazer. I also have worn the same red dress with grey tights and grey vintage looking heels and a black loose knit cardi !
Do you have a red dress ? If so, what do you wear it with ? I want to wear mine tomorrow for our church valentines/spaghetti dinner fundraiser :)
Looking for new ideas for my red dress.

This is a fabulous color combo! It's so perfect for winter, February, Valentine's Day...I love that you were inspired at the gym. =) I do the same things sometimes -- I get inspired by random colors or patterns or people on the street. That red lipstick looks awesome on you, too! Stay warm!! =)

I just love the way you wear that skirt! So, is it supposed to be worn high with a belt like that, or do you just hike up a normal one to get the look? Either way, tres chic!

I love your blog! I'm still new to fashion, but I really enjoy your posts and I find your work very inspiring! I think I may have seen you yesterday (I hope this doesn't sound stalker-y) and wanted to apologize for the look of pure surprise when I saw you walk in! If you saw a surprised look yesterday, that's just the face of a big fan. Keep up the good work!

What a perfectly put together outfit, topped off with a great red lipstick. Red and grey is one of my earliest color combo loves. I even remember colouring in pictures with this combination and being enamoured of it.
