I've never really been much for blazers--too stiff for me? too corporate? I'm too addicted to soft cardigans instead?--but I'm really trying to bust out of my cardigan rut so I forced myself to add this blazer to the 30 for 30 and I'm going to remix it if it kills me (unlike last time's blazer which only saw the light of day once, whoops). I'm jealous of people who can remix a blazer like nobody's business (Liz, Kendi, Syd, I'm looking at you). But luckily, I have a trick up my sleeve--Everybody, Everywear, a site where bloggers will post how they wear big ticket items (like blazers and stripes and gingham)--and I'm going to milk it for all it's worth. Blazer, prepared to be conquered.

I'm with you; I very rarely rock the blazer, but when I do, I love it. And I totally admire everyone else's ability to wear a blazer with just about anything. Hmmm, I may need to make a last minute 30/30 substitution...
I agree with you about blazers being hard to wear... but I think you nailed it with this outfit! I love it belted. And those glasses- awesome.
you've got it, girl! it looks really good. remixing with it with be exciting!!

You look great! I have a really hard time wearing blazers so I tried mine out today too. The silhouette of this outfit is super flattering on you!
I totally agree - blazers can seem really stiff. I feel the same about demin jackets, I always feel like I'm in a straight jacket when I try one on!
I think you pull it off beautifully. With that pretty white shirt and jeans, it's anything but stiff on you. Great glasses!
You're off to a good start :) Blazers are awesome - you'll definitely find ways to rock it. Jeans/leggings with a printed t-shirt + a blazer is always a good one.
I feel like a good blazer that is well-fitted and not too stiff can dress up anything. Last week I wore one with a baseball t-shirt and jeans to work. Of course, I work at a university too, so the dress code is a little fluid. But still - I felt dressy enough.
That's my goal. Use EBEW to learn a thing or two about those pesky blazers. I love it with your skinny jeans.
The Auspicious Life
Tania I absolutely love this! Your outfit is adorable and I LOVE the touch your glasses give the whole look. I think you'll be a blazer remixing veteran in no time.
This looks great together! Not stuffy at all, and super chic. Very cute :o)
You are blazin' indeed. I just got a new one from JCrew, but it has to be taken in :( Hoping to wear it soon and probably in the same way you have! P.S. I thought you were wearing leggings, not jeans!
i feel the same way when it comes to blazers...they never look natural or comfortable on me. i do like this look and may have to venture outside my box and wear one...we'll see!
I own several blazers and I usually find myself opting for cardigans instead - I think a lot of the problem is that, in the fall and winter, I just can't fit a blazer under a jacket...

there is no reason to be jealous because you look fabulous dressed in this blazer -- in this whole outfit! i love the black and white, the skinnies, and the wedges! lookin' good.
I think this is so chic! I'd never have known you weren't a veteran blazer-remixer at all, and the wedges and glasses keep this very fun and un-stuffy.
It took me a while to get comfortable wearing blazers too, but I was pretty enamored in my last year of grad school - I blame Lady Gaga :)

I feel the same way about blazers. I think they look good on other people but I'm always slightly uncomfortable in one. I did participate in EBEW today though!
You look SO lovely! I am really digging the blazer!
This is the epitome of "my hot professor." Your poor college students aren't going to know what hit them when you walk in the room. Looks fabulous!
i have two great blazers, but i agree with you, esp as a student, they seem too much to wear during school! perhaps next year when i am in charge of the classroom!
i like the attitude, that's right blazer, you can suck it! this is a great outfit....and dang girl, your legs are amazing!! i have major leg envy right now as mine are occupied with extra baby roundness.
i love it when you wear your nerd glasses. ;)
I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the snow...and ready for spring and spring outfits.

I love blazers, but I don't wear them very often. I think that you are rocking that blazer, lady!
Very sharp looking! I was wishing I had a pretty white blouse to wear under my blazer, but didn't include a white blouse in my 30X30 items. Very classy n classic!
Adore this look - it is fabulous Tania! You totally rock the blazer, in exactly your fabulous style and way! Love it!!!
i NEED a blazer. I am so convinced now seeing you wear one. and those glasses are totally rockin.
I have a hard time wearing blazers, too, but that's because I'm a giant. Whenever I manage to find one that's long enough, it's cut wide enough to fit a linebacker. Which isn't what I am.
Have those same shoes, by the way. Very comfortable!
I think your outfit is adorable and you rock that blazer!! Great look and I love the jeans!!!
The glasses are such an eye catcher!!
I really like the way you wore the blazer, actually. It looks super cute belted like that! And the glasses are an adorable touch!
I'm remixing too if you want to check out my blog!

I think this is one of my favorite looks on you! haha So it's funny that you don't like them because it's really flattering. xo
You look great in a blazer! The skinny jeans and belt help de-stuffify it (soooo not a word, but I don't care!)
LOVE your glasses! Where did you get them from?

Mission: Blazer? Accomplished! Love how you belted the blazer!

I think it depends on what you wear with it, you could totally wear the blazer with the lobster dress and some tights and boots for a day time look.
Love it!!!!
I completely understand what you mean by a blazer being too corporate and stiff at times. I like to wear a simple gray hooded sweater underneath mine - somehow I think this makes it a much less corporate look...I also wear cardigans underneath buttoned up! You can have the best of both worlds! I bet your wonderful yellow cardigan would look amazing with a blazer! :-)
p.s. I find lots of inspiration for blazers on sartorialist:

I feel that way about blazers too - but i think you look really great!
LOVE those glasses on your girl! You look great!

I have a hard time with blazers too. Thats why I tend to gravitate towards the knit ones. They have the same look as a regular blazer, but they are so much more comfortable and casual feeling. I love the idea of belting it. I'd say you nailed the blazer look!

I feel the same way about blazers. I like how you belted yours, and I'm jealous of those wedges.
Second Star
i love the belted blazer! you should rock it more often.
What can I say? This outfit is simple and amazing! I loooved your blazer and need to get one for me right now! Actually, I have one, it's gray... but I should also have a black one! Hehehe... And dear, I'm finally happy with my first pair of brogues. They're pink! And I've got dorky glasses too. Check them out here:

I have shoe envy.
I'm really happy you continue to wear these glasses despite your naysaying family members. So Jenna Lyons chic.
I think you rock it! I totally should have belted mine today. I love you in skinnies, and that blouse is so flattering.

You look SO cute in this outfit!! You should totally rock stuff like this more often.
loove this!! You can totally rock a blazer Tania!
I love the idea of belting the blazer! I have a black blazer for interview purposes but it always feels bulky. I may try belting mine the next time I have a job interview and want to give my outfit some shape!
Love that outfit so much, veery Europe!!
Look amazing!

I think you definitely nailed the blazer look. I really love those Gap skinnies; I bought my first pair last night, and I think I'm hooked!
Yes, yes... you just showed that blazer who is boss! And it is about time I make a 'holy stems' comment isn't it?
ps. holy stems!
cute very sophisticated yet cool

Even if the blazer isn't your thing, I'm loving it on you, especially with the belt. The jeans/shoes combo is pretty fantastic, too. And then with the glasses...parfait!
You look great in this blazer! There are only a few blazers I own that I think look good on me. I tend to prefer cardigans too.
We have the same blazer on! I love that we both have such different looks with the same piece.

Great outfit! Glad the nerd glasses are back, I missed them! Have a great day, Nora
I love the belted blazer. You look great!
love the oversized glasses with the blazer, very hipster business chic.
You look AMAZING in this. I have the exact same problem, in that I have a little black blazer that I absolutely love, but can't seem to find a look that works for me - I'm too much of a cardigan girl! You've inspired me to wear it again when the weather cools down here :)
Love it! What is the nail polish you're wearing? It's great for cheering your self up during the dreary winter months.
I just thrifted this blazer new for $5! I am wearing it this weekend with my skinny jeans!
xoxoMB
Love those wedges! I have them in purple and they're proving to be a 30 for 30 must have!
I love you in a blazer! I used to feel really weird in them, too. Now, I can't get enough! So much of it is finding the perfect fit and balancing them with more casual pieces. This outfit is spot on! I love how you belted it and you look awesome in these jeans. Can't wait to see you remix it more!
i love the blazer almost as much as i love the glasses! those are totally awesome, i SO want to find a pair with dark blue frames!
