Winter 30 for 30: My Picks

Yes, I'm doing the 30 for 30 again! Here are my picks for my next 30 outfits. Read more about what the 30 for 30 is here, at remix central (Kendi Everyday).

tops2
(from left, top row: target, target, j. crew, h&m; bottom row: urban outfitters, urban outfitters, j. crew, thrifted j. crew)

sweaters1

(from left, top row: bcbg (gift), j. crew, urban outfitters; bottom row: target, h&m, j. crew outlet)

skirts 1
skirts2
(from left, top row: j. crew, kakalina rose vintage, thrifted vintage; bottom row: gap, urban outfitters)

pants
(from left: loft trousers, gap skinnies)

dresses
(from left: anthro (gift), c/o spotted moth)

shoes
(from left: dansko clogs, target wedges, urban outfitters pumps)

boots
(from left: steve madden, l.l. bean, clarks)

Here are my 30 pieces--or rather, my 29 pieces, because I haven't figured out what I want for piece #30. Inevitably I forget one thing that I end up wanting halfway through, plus, it helps mentally because I feel like I could have anything from my closet just in case I need it. I'm super-excited for this challenge and ready to remix my little heart out! I'd love to hear (and visit you) if you're doing the 30 for 30, too. I'm always looking for new inspiration, particularly when I have limited pieces to work with.
P.S. Here are remixes one and two if you want to check them out :)

I'm excited to start my first 30 for 30 tomorrow! Can't wait to see what everyone does. :)

I made up a hand-drawn chart of all of my pieces, but after seeing everyone's pictures, I may need some photo-documentation too.

I was looking forward to this post Tania! Of course we both are using the gingham shirt - maybe we can style them up for each other? It can be like a mini gingham style challenge.

Love your picks!! Can't wait to see how they get wwnaw-ified :) I'm going to be posting my picks later on tonight, can't wait!

I'm doing the 30 for 30 too! I don't have my picks on my blog yet, hopefully tonight.

Can't wait to see what you come up with. Cute blog! :)

Nice picks! I'm especially happy to see Bean boots in there. I wear mine almost daily, although just as snow/rain boots, so I'm not counting them in my 30.

@Trisha - I drew out my picks! Would like to see your sketches, too :)

You come up with the classiest combos! Good luck!

Ooooooh, so delicious! I can't wait to see all of these.
And, right now I have the same orange jcrew skirt in my 30x30 pile. I can't decide whether to use it or my liberty print one. We'll see, I guess!

It will be great to see how you style these pieces--you're very clever at it. I'm joining the 30for30 this time around, and I hope to get my pieces posted later this evening!

1. The 30th piece is always the hardest for me to pick! I chose a really random wild card to see what I can do with.

2. It looks like you have some great pieces to work with! Do you have that J.Crew buffalo check shirt in two colors? I feel like I've seen you in the orange one…right?

3. I've seen a lot of people including that Target blazer! Love it.

4. I spy a red and white striped shirt! Glad you found one before the challenge :)

5. Skirt envy! I really wanted that purple paperbag UO skirt, but it was sold out by the time I had enough money for it. And I saw that J.Crew skirt at the mall over the weekend, so I will be excited to see how you remix it.

I am now going to check out your first remix, since I loved your second one!

Very excited to see that you're doing the 30x30 again. I think I might follow your lead and leave a wildcard spot in my pick. I haven't posted yet for this round, but I'm excited to start up soon- this will be my second time. I just did a wrap up post for the fall round, so I'm hoping to get through this round much quicker.

Someone's gonna have to convince me to participate b/c I still feel mildly shell shocked from the last one. I'm partially not sure why that felt so torturous. And yet I still kind of want to try again... I have heard the second one is easier... hmm... we'll see.

Nice picks! Can't wait to see how you'll remix all of it. I'm new to the blogging world and want to try the 30 for 30 but I don't know if I'm ready!!! Good luck!

Congrats on starting the 30 for 30! I'm currently doing a dress challenge (to wear every single dress at least once with no repeats - I have 85 of them). But maybe once I'm done, I'll do the 30 for 30 too! Looking forward to seeing your posts!

Looking forward to seeing you remix! I think since I went abroad last year and spent nine month on a more or less '30 for 30 challenge', I'm a little burnt out on the concept myself. But I still love watching others create unique looks with limited pieces. S.

just posted my 30 pieces yesterday! it's my second time and i'm excited to go at it again.

I'm doing my very first 30 for 30 this time around! It was actually tricky getting from about 20 to 30 - I seem to have a lot of go-to pieces and don't know what to do with the rest.

You can see my picks at http://www.cupcait.com/2011/01/my-30-for-30-picks.html

I look forward to following your month of remixes!

I'm trying the 30 for 30 for the first time - squeeeeeeee! I can't wait to get home from work tonight so I can post all of my items. I meant to take pictures last night... but I left half of my shoes at the office, and I wasn't sure which ones I would be using. Aghhhh!!

Savannah said...

That's a really good idea to have a back-up piece! I'm excited to start tomorrow. I've got week one all planned out :)

I can't wait to see how everyone does.

Great items! I'm doing the remix challenge again, but I'm so behind on picking out items! Last time, they just jumped out at me, but this time, I'm having a harder time trying to decide.

This is my first 30x30 and I'm really excited to try it out! You inspired me to keep my 30th piece a wild card incase something comes up or inspiration strikes. :) Can't wait to see how you remix.

Very fun!!! Like verybody else, I'm looking forward to your mixes. I'm especially wondering how bold you're going to get with your color combos. I'd love some inspiration in using bold color in a sophisticaed way. For some reason, sophisticated always seems to mean neutral in my little mind. Love your choices!

Amanda said...

Oh, this will be so fun!! I'm doing my first 30 for 30 on my brand spankin' new blog and I'm really excited to follow along with some 30 for 30 veterans. I loved what you did on the last one's you particitpated in! Great inspiration!

You chose lovely pieces. Can't wait to see your outfits.

I'm on my 2nd remix and tried to use less black, more color & patterns, less shoes (well ok, 5 pairs instead of 6) and no clothes from the last remix. Here's hoping...!

Good luck! Those are some solid choices and I can't wait to see what you come up with :)

I was very inspired by your last 30/30 remixes, and it prompted me to join in this time. It's my first time, but I think it'll be good for getting me out of my current rut!

It's funny--I went to grad school in the midwest, and now I currently have a fancy fellowship very near the area you are from... All I can say--amazing weather!

I feel like snowmageddon is going to derail some of my plans of actually going out in public while wearing my outfits. Maybe I'll just play dress-up.

Here's my 30 for 30, in case you're interested.

Looks like your 30x30 is going to include some of that stellar color-mixing you do so well! I love that purple skirt from kakalina rose vintage, I'm psyched to see what you do with it.

I'd hoped to include that same Target blazer in my picks, but after having my poor mother rustle around in the boxes of clothes I left with her, it turns out all my warmest garments went up to storage in MA - whoops! So I'll just have file away remix inspiration on that one until I get back.

Feeling much better that you left a spot open in your 30 too. I wasn't sure if I was cheating... But, I totally agree it gives me comfort and will justify bragging rights if I do 29 for 30 ;)
