striped sweater: ll bean
white button-up: banana republic (old)

boots: steve madden
necklace: i made it!

Last week, I spotted this rad necklace on Elisabeth and was surprised to scroll down and find that she made it herself based on this tutorial. Then, by a stroke of luck, I was at the hardware store the very next day where I bumped into the containers of copper pipes. I took it as a sign that I had to make my own copper (I mean, rose-gold) necklace, which Christopher finds a bit silly but I think is awesome, especially given that it only cost about $2 and I got to feel super-crafty, which almost never happens. In other news, it was a really lazy day, in evidence by:
1. my messy bun for the second day in a row (which means I am going on day 4 without washing my hair).
2. complete lack of makeup (which feels so good albeit a little bare).
3. and on a personal I've-been-lazy note, I ate cereal for breakfast and lunch, a really bad habit I am trying to break but finding difficult because honey nut cheerios are just SO GOOD.

I just watched the tutorial and you have such a cute voice :)
The necklace is nice, wouldn't have guessed it's handmade!

you look adorable. I fully support unwashed hair and I wish I was bare enough to go a day without make up. My minimum is usually foundation and mascara...

You are a girl after my own heart - sometimes I feel like I could eat cereal for every meal of the day!

Great styling today and I love your new necklace!

I love this sweater. I wish I didn't feel so weird in stripes.
BTW, I'm very Jerry Seinfeld about cereal. In college, I lived on it. I would have cabinets full of cereal and nothing else:)

Another great outfit, I am really enjoying your neutrals this week! I can't believe your hair looks that good after 4 days without washing! Jealous. Good job on the necklace!!

that necklace is awesome - DIY stuff is so much fun! last week was my lazy week - I think I wore my hair up every single day. In the winter it's just so much easier to pull it up and away than try and fight the staticy mess that rests on my head.

WOW. I think I need to find a hardware store...

Your hair still looks pretty good for being on day #4 of not washing it. My hair would be well on the way to dreadlocks by that point.

Also---LOVE honey nut cheerios, they've been my de facto snack for the past few days. So yummy.

Nice to see someone else embracing horizontal stripes, I've been so into them lately. And I love the homemade necklace! I made another diy necklace last night (http://www.aprettypennyblog.com/2011/01/project-restyle-easy-no-sew-t-shirt.html) it was super easy and turned out really well.

Yours turned out great! I need to find some pipes without the sticker marks.

Honey Nut Cheerios are my favorite breakfast food, period.

LOVE this outfit and love that that the necklace was a DIY - I may have to try to make one myself!! Thanks for the inspiration (as always :))!

The sweater IS fab, but that necklace is amazing! I may have to bump into copper pipes at the hardware store this weekend!

...You look stunning without makeup. Like if you hadn't said you were bare, I'd think that was some great natural looking make-up! And haha sometimes it's nice to take it easy- and I love the necklace! So inventive.

I love the do-it yourself necklace for $2. That is a major fashion success! I like the contrast against the stripes of your shirt. PS messy bun and minimal makeup is me practically every day!

I eat honey nut cheerios way too much too! I had them for dinner last night. Poor husband!

Love this outfit. I would wear it tomorrow if I had the write kind of sweater.

Aubree said...

I mean right kind of sweater. I have a bad headache right now- please forgive my grammar. : )

Love this outfit! That sweater is so cute :-)

How do you manage to layer a sweater + buttondown without feeling bulky and gross? That's my problem...I love the look on others, but whenever I try it I feel all tight and bulky and horrible. UGH!

eleanor said...

Oh wow, I wish I looked this good with no make-up on and day 4 hair!! Hehe :) This outfit is great and I love the necklace, what a cute DIY!

Your hair looks really good, especially for not washing it for 4 days. I'm partial to messy buns myself and I've worn them lots since I was about 14 because they're so easy and comfortable.

This is one of those outfits that is problematic for me, in that it is a problem that I immediately want to go out and buy every element of it that I don't already own! So fantastic. So much more than the sum of its parts. Brava! :)
