Today I taught Magritte's "The Treason of Images" to complement Mr. Oscar Wilde, which of course meant I had to wear my Magritte-inspired shirt. The cold and dark outside is making me crave bright colors, so I had no choice but to pair it with this super-bright pencil skirt. I also was lucky enough to get my hands on this sisterhood of the traveling bag (of sorts) that spent last week with Sydney and is heading on to Tieka next. It was an awesome companion for a very busy day--it fit six books, a sandwich, plus my heels inside (because I wasn't crazy enough to try to walk to the bus stop in 4 inches of snow wearing heels). But now that this day is almost over, I'm heading to snuggle on the couch with Christopher, a book, and a pair of slippers :)

That bag sounds like an amazing Mary Poppins bag - anything that can hold six books is a winner for me!!

Love the bright pop that the skirt gives to the overall outfit - that is an amazing thrift find!! And the bicycle tee is still so cute :)

Good call on not wearing the heels in the snow. They look great though, awesomely long legs and all.

Do you know that's my favourite top? Like seriously - I LOVE it! Meanwhile, I'm glad you said you carried your heels - because I was like, woaaaahhhh she walked in snow in those? And I'm not gonna lie, I was terrified for your safety, but impressed with your awesomeness, all at the same time. hehe

The skirt's red color is just perfect! Exactly what you need on a snow-white winter day.

I love the skirt, red is my favourite colour so I really appreciate red items.

Also Oscar Wilde is amazing, I read his short stories when I was about seven because I thought short stories were all for children (novels for adults, short stories for children, it made sense to me anyway). I understood the story but thankfully didn't get any of the sexual undertones. Probably for the best that would have been an awkward conversation for my mum.

I just love how a pop of red amps up a black and white ensemble. This is great!

Also, I got the Blamires companion to Ulysses, and holy shit it has made all the difference in the world! I'm eating it up, now, and looove it (though it's also terribly sad. I keep wanting to move through the pages and have a pint with Bloom, so he knows he's not alone).

Oh look at you, you clever lady. Such a nice play on words ;)

I so suck at post titles. YOU are the queen of them. And the queen of the best awkward story EVER.

You're the third person I've seen with a red vintage pencil skirt in the past week. I've been searching high and low, but can't seem to find the perfect one. Anyway, you look great!
