I spent a decadent morning reading on the couch wearing fleece pants (very cool, I'll tell you) and didn't end up getting dressed until after lunch, when Christopher and I decided finally to take a long-delayed trip to Goodwill to drop off some things and dig around for winter duds. I've been feeling guilty that I shrank Christopher's vintage wool Pendleton shirt, but then I found EIGHT other ones, all in his size, today. So now he has five of them, his brother has two, and I'm sending a third to Claire. I figured our incredible haul was due in part to my karmic dressing--most of my outfit is from the Goodwill to begin with, and it must have brought us luck today. (Seriously, 8 vintage wool shirts? Almost too good to be true!)

I respond very positively to this J.Crew-ish styling. If you were a boat, you'd be yare [yahr!].

That's so awesome! I really should thrift more, but unfortunately I find more discouraging than fun.

I once shrank something belonging to my boyfriend, thankfully it was something from his "Oh no unless I wear things ten times bigger than myself people will see me" so it actually fit him afterwards.

I do love thrifting but I never find anything vintage. I did find a top that could be worn as a skirt as well, that was good.

I'm pretty sure Goodwill is the best thrift store. I'm not sure how they do it, since everything they sell is randomly dumped into their hands by people who don't want it anymore, but it is usually somehow superior to other thrift stores.

Wow! Total WIN! I never find anything that fits me when I go thrifting. You look great!

That skirt looks so good on you! My boyfriend and I go to Goodwill often as well and sometimes we find some really nice stuff - the brown boots I wear almost every day I bought there for $1.00! Great outfit. xo

That's such a great idea to hem your skirts! I always find nun-skirts (long...gray...not pencil, but not flouncy...I don't know the right words...obviously). Hemming! Duh! Brilliant! Nice work!

I am so unbelievably jealous of your 8 Pendleton shirts. I've been trying to find them up here for AGES and haven't spotted one yet!

Thrifting has ruined me for normal clothing stores, especially since I only go to the thrift store on their half-off day. yes, salvation army has a half-off day! Can life be any better?

colored tights=awesome.

those tights with that grey skirt looks prrrretty amazing!

Goodwill really harbors some amazing finds - whether it's clothes or home items. especially the ones up north (i don't know why?).

I really love this outfit! I like the combination of ladylike skirt and the more rough-and-tumble shirt. Would you consider taking a close-up picture of the shirt and sharing it with us? I want to see that gorgeous pattern :-)

I love this look on you. It's kind of boyish, but feminine at the same time. You always manage to incorporate such fun tights and socks into your outfits, and I envy you for your hemming skills. :)

Can I go thrifting with you? I never have such fab scores! The look is great, and I would kill to find that many Pendelton shirts! I inherited one from my grandfather and it is the BEST!

Wow, someone must have been clearing out their closets! I love when I find a whole trove of stuff that seems to be from one person at the thrift store (until I start thinking that the person died and that's why it's there and then I feel bad!) Your belt is so cool and I really need tights that color!
