Orange I glad that I have so much orange in this 30 for 30? Why yes, I am, because I think it's my new favorite color, be darned if I look like an escapee from the state pen. To whine momentarily, I envisioned this outfit with my gray wool pencil skirt, and kicked myself a little for not having it in my 30 for 30 pile in the place of one of my 9 shirts that I've barely glanced at. However, I've realized two things today:
1. The blue skirt has a lot more movement and feels a bit unexpected with boots and a cardigan.
2. If I'm going to buy anything over the holiday season, it's going to be skirts, which add a lot more versatility to my wardrobe and would help me wear the dozens of shirts that sit neglected on my racks.
Orange I glad for this challenge, indeed.

You look very fall chic in this outfit! The orange/brown/blue looks really great together; I may have to (ahem) borrow some inspiration from you here :-)

This has got to be one of my favorites of your 30 for 30 so far. I adore the shirt, and I've been pretty much obsessed with orange/rust this season, so I'm loving the color palette!

That outfit is so cute! I especially love the boots! :0]

I want a replica! I love all of those pieces together! I'd have my hands in my cute, little skirt pockets all day. :)

I LOVE this look! Your hair looks great, too. I have been thinking about buying those boots for a while now because I see so many people wearing them and they always look great. Could you comment on how they fit? Did you have to size up or down? Are they comfortable? Thanks!

La Historiadora de Moda said...

I love the shirt, and those boots are fantastic! I have found that I really own a pathetic selection of tops, and since it is much colder, windier, and snowier here I will have to wear pants more often in the winter than I have in the past. I am definitely on the lookout for some more cute tops that can work as teaching or weekend wear.

I just started reading your blog when you posted on Kendi Everyday about why you remix - and I'm really glad I now follow your blog, too! Love your clothes - and this is by far the best remix outfit to date!

This is by far my favorite outfit. You totally took a classic silhouette and turned it on it's head with the unexpected color combo. LOVE.

I love you in this pumpkin orange, so it's a good thing you've been wearing it a lot in your challenge!

I have similar coloring and I never go for that muted orange color - maybe I'll have to pop in to my local JCrew and try it out!

this blue skirt definitely works for this outfit and i think i prefer the movement over a pencil skirt. and oranges look so good on you!

I love this outfit more than I can say! That color palate is fantastic. I really wish I had gotten that j crew shirt in blue when they had them... now they all have pockets on the front, which I'm not down with. siiiigh. And yes skirts rock, they do give you all kinds of options. I find myself leaning towards wearing a skirt 90% of the time actually.

very cute outfit! I'm still kicking myself for having left out a pencil skirt, ANY pencil skirt, but this blue one of yours is great and I love your boots!

I've been loving your use of orange. I only have one orange sweater, but I'm beginning to wish I had included it. I only wear it in the fall, and poor thing's been neglected because of the challenge! Love the skirt - should have known it was from anthro!

I love the shades of orange that you are wearing! I live in Tennessee Volunteer country so I am not a big fan of UT orange but burnt orange is great!

You are excellent at this challenge! I can hardly tell you are even doing the 30 for 30 challenge at all. Do you think this would be more difficult if winter was harsher in your area?

What Would a Nerd Wear said...

thanks, sarah! perhaps it would be...although it is pretty cold here (in the 20's) and i always, always have a coat on over these outfits when i'm outside. if the challenge were in january, though, i might have added some warmer shirts, etc.

I am loving everything about this outfit! So cute!

You look beautiful in this. And what's not to love about a full skirt with pockets? I, too, will be doing some serious skirt shopping after the 30 for 30. I don't know how my fall/winter skirt collection is so lacking.
