This lace skirt is proving to be incredibly versatile--it can be worn at the waist or pulled down to the hips; its neutral color goes with a whole heap of my closet; and it is comfortable to boot. I wanted to see if I could pair it with a hip-length cardigan, since I've already worn it with an extra-long sweater and a pullover. I really liked the color scheme but I felt a little meh about the outfit overall--I think it needed some bigger jewelry or accessories but I couldn't figure out exactly what. Thankfully, I think I'll have a few more chances to remix it before this is over :)

i saw these socks at target on sale and loved them. im suddenly super ticked i didnt pick them up!
I love the look of the stocking + the boots. I want to try it soooo bad but I'm not sure I have the strength haha. Or the skirt for that matter. Maybe I'll try a dress :) Thanks for sharing. As always you look lovely and your clothes are as cute as ever!
A little something in silver? like a silver chain,Perhaps?this skirt is a good remix item.
Ah, the neutrals are so perfect! And yes, this skirt is a magic-maker, for sure! I love seeing how all the bloggers who have one style it! :)
I saw on the Today Show yesterday a segment on the boots/tights/sock trend. It made me think of all my favorite fashionable bloggers who have been rocking this look for a while.

I just saw that sweater/cardi on clearance last night and thought about buying it. Now that I see how cute it looks on you I think I will! Great outfit!
are those two pairs of socks layered? or just one pair? either way, they're really cool! i like the neutral palette of this outfit, and that skirt is very pretty. =)
I kept seeing that skirt and Target and thinking it would be too fancy for me but now that I see how your remixing it I really want it. Hmph - decisions since we know that bad boy will be gone by the end of this 30 days. You're making me want to cheat. :)

i love the neutral color scheme and i wish my Target still had that lace skirt!! i like how you layered the socks too. i have some white knee-high socks and thought they looked too white when worn alone. i'll have to try layering them too!

@the coastal chicer--it's just one pair of socks--they are two colors.
thank you!!
While I love the mixed neutrals, I'm with you-- maybe a splash of color in a chunky necklace, or a pair of tights to unify the outfit? This a great foundation, perhaps you can remix it during the next 27 days.
I love the socks-and-boots look you've been rocking lately, and think this ruffled cardigan is adorable and unexpected paired with the lace skirt -- and most of all, I'm super impressed that you're able to get your posts up so early every morning -- you've beaten me by several hours, even though you're (I suspect) one or two time zones behind us east-coasters...
I love the neutral color palette of this outfit - and looove that sweater. You are also totally nailing the socks at knees with boots trend - love it! Maybe a necklace would have helped you feel better about the overall outfit?
And umm, too funny that we are both remixing the same style sweater, except in different colors! Great minds think alike, right? :)
Small Time Style
Pretty! I'm wearing that skirt today as well :)
You look wonderful. I saw that skirt at Target for super cheap but didn't get it. I went back last week and they were all gone :(
I missed my chance. I think I may have to try my hand at sewing one.
Loving your sweater too btw.

Lately every time a blogger says they didn't love an outfit, I loved it. What's up with that?
(ooooooweeeeee, what up with that? what up with that?)
I. Loved. This. :)
I think your outfit is very pretty and feminine but not too feminine! How about this for with it? :)
Large Copper Vintage Locket Necklace
Love this outfit, it feels very calm...if you understand what I mean by that!
I have a question about those Steve Madden boots--how are they around the calf? I don't have the smallest calves in the world and I am in the market for knee-high leather boots. I just don't want them to be too tight around my calves. I saw that both you and Kendi have them, and I think they're so cute on both of you!
I am so glad I got this skirt too - it's definitely so versatile!
between you and kendi, i want that skirt! i like the pearls, ruffles, and neutral palette...it comes across very ladylike.
WOO DAY THREE! :)
ooooh, n.3 is my favorite (so far at least)! such a sweet look on you.
Looks great! I think a colorful belt and long necklace would be great accessories to add. Even just a long pretty scarf.
Of course I adore accessories, so that's always my answer!
I may or may not have purchased that skirt approximately 15 minutes before the shopping ban started. But online so I couldn't add it to the remix. Love that cardigan too!
I really like this color scheme, and I'm wishing I had bought that skirt too, now that I see how versatile it is!
@sara-jane: yes, they are quite roomy in the calf!! i was worried about that, too, but they are a bit slouchy and the buckle gives a little extra room.
@jewelscapes: i'm drooling, i LOVE it!
I like it, very vanilla! hahah maybe you could swap in some colored tights or knee socks to give it a little color? the ruffles on your cardigan are so unique!

I love the neutrals here and the overall proportions of the outfit. And really, the skirt is the best thing ever. It seems like I know 30 bloggers who have it and it has been worn and styled differently every time I see it. Remixing really IS fun! :)
I like the skirt a lot!!! Everybody is talking about that skirt and it makes me go, "GARRR, why isn't there a Target around me?" Shocking huh?
You look great! And the white socks a bit higher than the boots is a great pop!

I posted on someone else's pictures of this skirt the other day and said you all should pick a day to wear the skirt - then we can all see the differently stylings side-by-side just to see how versatile it really it!
And, I'm the worst at spicy up an outfit so I don't blame you for going without any jewelry this time.
The Auspicious Life
I admire your loyalty to J.Crew cardigans - they are the best and really last! I usually get mine as gifts and expect to wear them to shreds, but it never comes down to that.
i'm officially kicking myself for not getting that skirt when i had the chance! you look lovely.

I seriously called the title of your post this morning in the shower. ha. I noticed you had a theme going, but I have to wonder what will come next... it seems like 1 2 and 3 are easy... maybe it will come to me in the shower again!
Cute boots by the way!
I love the mix of the ruffles and the lace! I think just a few pops of color might make for a nice remix.
Thanks for your sweet email! Here's to having a life!
A very cute and comfy looking outfit. You have great style and I want to share your blog with some of my readers....let them know about what a great blog you have!
I am obsessed with those socks. I could break the no shopping ban for those, right? I mean, they're JUST socks. Slippery slope, I tell ya ...
Your socks match your outfit perfectly! Oops you probably knew that already but...that's pretty cool!
You look so great in neutrals. I have some pieces that are similar to this palette --- color me inspired, T!
i'm glad you found a skirt that works with a lot of things. i realize i dont have skirts at all. so pretty! i love the palette as well.
I almost bought that skirt, and after seeing how versatile you can make it, I'm kind of sad I didn't. I really like that cardigan as well...gotta love J.Crew!
Hey! I'm your new follower! I love your current style!
I have heard of your blog sooo many times! Ever since I started blogging.
Excited to be your newest follower!
Wow I'm crazy about those socks you are wearing - I am going to have to hit up Target once this is over, hopefully they'll still have some left as we'll be well into winter by then!
I love this outfit exactly as it is! Neutral, romantic, simple and pretty! ♥ This cardigan is so cute ;)
I definitely dig the neutral tones here and the way your socks reflect your cardigan/top! It's a cute outfit overall but I agree that it's missing something... And for the life of me, I'm not sure what it is either...
you look lovely and i love the background of the trees and the street! your remixing ideas are fabulous and i cant wait to see what you come up with:)
