I've decided to do another 30 for 30 (see my first one here). Starting next Monday, I'll build 30 outfits with only 30 pieces, so this week feels like one last fling with the rest of my closet. Today's outfit is an amalgam of pieces that almost made the 30 but that I cut at the last minute--my black dress with a ruffled neck, a comfy chambray shirt, one of my favorite sweaters, and the boots-that-saved-me-last-winter. Today, I'm also trying out the knee socks again after last week, which my sister tells me was a little much. Thank goodness for the honesty of siblings, right? The socks are a bit more demure with tights and helped keep me warm when it was chilly this morning.
Anyone else trying a 30 for 30, either on their blog or in real life? I'm a little nervous for the next one, but excited about the pieces I've picked, which I'll post about this weekend.

I'm doing the 30 for 30 challenge for the first time and I'm really nervous now because LA just had weeks of rain and fog and today it is 96 degrees! I'm excited though and can't wait to see your pieces!

I'm doing my first 30 for 30 challenge and I'm super excited! But a little nervous because it is finally starting to look like winter (not fall, we have skipped that entirely) here in Texas.

I really like the layered socks and tights.

I am on the fence about doing the 30 for 30 right now.

I think I just might do it again! I'm already making an Excel spreadsheet of my choices. (I'll need an excuse to force myself to blog...man, I'm lazy.)

Love all the layering going on in this outfit - the socks over tights, dress over chambray, with a cardi over that - AND a belt! Lots of fun elements that look great overall!

I too am on the fence for the 30 for 30 challenge. There's a big part of me that wants to try, but another big part that says I just can't limit my shoes that much!! I'd have to do some major planning - not a strength of mine! We'll see... :)

I'm doing the 30 for 30 again, as well! I don't have my pieces completely narrowed down yet, but I have about half picked out so far. Was there a method to your picking? Or did you just go with what felt right?

I love that scarf. It is such a pretty color. Can't wait to see the results of your next 30 for 30. I think I found your blog during the last one.

I've decided to take the 30 for 30 plunge and I'm also feeling a little blue about the items that didn't make the cut! Narrowing down was hard, I'll be trying to wear all my favorite before Monday, too.

I'm doing it! Still have no clue what I'll be wearing!

I can't wait to see what pieces you chose!

your sister's way too tame. the socks rock in the last look.

I felt the same way this morning! I selected most of my 30for30 pieces last night and found myself scrambling to put something together this morning.

Looking forward to following along!

I love the wrap belt!

I think the grey cardigan, dress, and shirt combined make you look a bit bulkier than you are. methinks it's just a bit too many layers.

I love this outfit, great layering. The wrap belt is really interesting. I don't think I'd be able to make it through a 30 for 30 style challenge. I get antsy when I start to limit my wardrobe. I think it's a great way to learn how to rework a wardrobe though.

This will be my very first time doing the 30 for 30. I'm excited about it since my main mission with my blog is accessorizing ideas, I figure it will be an extra good accessorizing excercise for me. I'm looking forward to watching yours and everyone elses!

I'm hoping to do the 30 for 30 challenge, but have no bedroom or wardrobe issues (it's a looong story) so I am delaying mine. Not doing it offically but I look forward to the clever thinking and inspiration from everyone takiong part.

BTW love the socks over tights or skinny jeans look. So trying that when it is Winter down here.

I think it would be fun to do the 30 for 30 but I'm just returning back to work after maternity leave and don't want to limit myself quite yet!

Oh I'd love to do a 30 for 30...but I lack the stamina. Ah well.

I totally loved the over knee socks and think they rocked...but I guess everyone has a different idea.

I like the injection of colour with the scarf.
xx:)

I'm in the midst of my first 30 for 30... It's kinda of A LOT of fun.
Random: I love the way you style your cardigans. How you cross them so they make a V and then belt... its incredibly flattering.
Anywhoo, can't wait to see you mix & match in a 30 for 30!!

I am trying the "30 for 30" for the first time. I'm really excited because I've never challenged myself like this before...also nervous because it's getting really cold here and I'm worried I won't pick warm enough clothes! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Oh and by the way I'm crazy about that wrap belt you're wearing - where's it from?

cathryn--oops, i forgot to list the belt. it's a hand-me-down from my mom! i'm pretty sure she got it on the street in new york in the 1970's!

I'm joining in on the 30 for 30 challenge for the first time, and I'm super nervous. This week I've been wearing all of my clothes that didn't make the cut as well! Good luck on the challenge!

I'm doing 30 for 30 too! I love this look, the color usage, and you're adorable high socks. You're quite fallish in this outfit. Also very comfy looking, which is so hard to to do well!

I would love to do the 30 for 30 sometime, probably next year when I, in theory, will be less busy...saying that I want to do a Masters...I may never be not busy. One day I shall do the 30 for 30...one day.

Anyways, that outfit, is, so, cute! (please excuse the mountain of commas...I couldn't help myself)

Love the tights and knee socks! Do you have some kind of layering fairy that helps you? No? Well, damn. I was hoping that your outfit sense wasn't quite as perfect as I thought it was.
I love the color that the scarf gives the ensemble and I can't wait to see your 30 for 30 because I'll be doing it, too!
