In retrospect, this outfit was hugely inspired by this one of Kendi's--I love the look of the pulled up socks with a long cardigan and an easy printed dress. The whole look feels cozy and pretty and relaxed. And what better to start off a 30 for 30 than by an homage to its inventor?

I'm slightly jealous as I was planning on something just as lovely today...but it's like cats and dogs over here. So. I'm living vicariously through you. At least one of us is going to look darling on her first day! :)

You look really cute! What I love about this outfit is it's do-ability (I just invented a word, yes.) for nearly every woman out there. I think those are the best. :)

This outfit looks fantastic, but I think it will make your legs look longer if the socks did not cut you off mid-knee.

Lovely! The gray cardi looks great paired with your bright dress! And I desperately need some thick socks like that.

I'm going to need all the inspiration I can get, so prepare for me to copy this... I guess it will have to wait until after 30x30 is over because I definitely didn't pick out a gorgeously ruffled dress. Drat!

Okay, totally weird question, but I have to ask. I have a very similar thrifted belt. I love it, but it's SO noisy! It makes weird squishing sounds every time I move. I've had to give up wearing it during the week for fear of disturbing the people working around me (I'm also a graduate student). Is yours the same, or is there something specifically wrong with mine?
