Day 2 of the no-shopping rule makes me remember what I felt during the last 30 for 30--the momentary desire to rebel. Not that I shop very often, but being told never to do so kind of makes the contrary part of me want to shop. What for, I have no idea, but luckily, I think this is just a phase. Soon I'll be back to my regular goody two-shoes self. Speaking of good behavior, I spent all day reading--pretty much every waking moment--in preparation for an upcoming conference, so comfort was key and these cords were just the ticket (again).

I'm not a big shopper either, but it seems like once I put that restriction there... BAM! I feel like a caged animal.
Especially when I see adorable sweaters and comfy but flattering cords like yours. Sometimes reading style blogs is my window shopping, really.

My roommate just scored that cardi on sale at anthro! I love the details on the front. It adds a little bit of fun to entire outfit.

I totally agree with Molly! When someone tells you not to, you just gotta!

I love the brightness of this yellow! It makes you glow :)

Ohh I love your sweater!! When I have to abide by rules I always want to rebel! Especially with shopping! Be strong girl!! =)

I think this might be the cutest I've ever seen you!

I know what you mean! My boyfriend got me a gift card to Urban on Friday and so of course I had to run out and spend it before Monday! The idea of not being able to shop makes me want to read every sale email that comes into my inbox even more than I did before.

Oh, and cute sweater :)

great cords and really pretty sweater. I'm not feeling the shopping itch - YET.

I love your grellow today. Yes, doesn't it seem like everything goes on sale the moment you decide not to shop ;)?

Cute! The yellow and gray combination is so great. I think I have the same LOFT cords included in my 30 for 30 - now I'm coveting something yellow and stripey for the top. But: must. not. shop.

I'm kind of obsessed with this cardigan...you can't go wrong with Anthropologie. I'm sure I will be having many casual outfits like this during my 30 for 30, considering finals week is less than a month away. You did a great job of striking the balance between comfortable and cute!

It's the half-yearly sale at Nordstrom right now and it was so hard last night to only peek at all the good stuff! The no shopping will be the hardest part! I have to do everything in my power not to cheat! :)

I want a cardigan like that now. Too bad I can't wear yellow as well as you!

I too love that Anthro cardie...then again I love most things Anthropologie (hence why 70% of my 30 for 30 stuff is from there, smh). PS - way to look cute & be comfortable!

That is such a sweet cardigan and I love it paired with the tougher grey cords!

Such a cute outfit! Yellow is my favorite color, and those cords look super comfy. I wish I had a pair to throw into my mix. I'm already making a list of things I think I need once the shopping ban is lifted. But then I am a total shopaholic, so I'm always doing that!

There is so much I like about this outfit. First, the combo of grey and yellow is one of my favorites. Second, the detail on your cardi is wonderful.

we all know how you feel about yellow and grey...i feel the same way. i looove this outfit. this sweater is divine!

Fashion Momma said...

Tania! You look so amazing, as usual. I love your classy little earrings and the applique on the sweater, that both dress up an otherwise more "comfortable" outfit. I've never tried yellow and grey together, but you pull it off so wonderfully!

This time of year is SO INTENSE in grad school. It amazes me every semester. Sure sure, read a book in two days. Read 5 articles on the next day. Of course that's definitely human, and not completely insane.

You're not attending a certain conference in Denver are you? (That's what I'm preparing for right now). Anyway, I love this outfit. And I recently got some skinny gray cords just cause I like yours so much.

Glowing on this yellow cardi! I love its details. And hello jeans!! long time no see-- I'm so used to wearing jeans that I can't believe how rarely you wear them!-- :P Sending you a huge bear hug, that one which makes us stop breathing for a while! You can easily finish this challenge! For you it's ust like a blueberry pie (does that exist?!, it sounded yummy anyways)

I considered going for the challenge but in the end I figured winters are too hard to restrict myself like that right now. Love watching what you're all doing with it though :) Maybe next year.

I did have a really sneaky thought though as I considered 30 for 30: Everybody will be on a shopping ban.. ETSY IS MINE!!! Only I am broke, so there. ;)

I love your grellow look.

And I think I'm the same way -- just being told to not shop makes me want to...

Ok, this post makes it official for me: I NEED a pair of grey skinnies (either jeans or cords, or both) as soon as possible.

I need that sweater...now! Great outfit!

Does it count as shopping if I can figure out how to trade something for clothing I want to buy?

I love the color palette... grey and yellow are always a favorite of mine to wear. I love your purse too! I saw it at H&M too and ended up not getting it, but after seeing it on you...I just might have to go back (after the challenge of course)

My husband pointed out the same thing (to my parents) the other night ... when I try to tell myself 'no shopping', I make it a cool 3 or 4 days. HA - zero willpower. But THIS TIME will be different! I can totally do it ... right?

Love the gray and yellow. :)
