And by four seasons, I mean one season--summer, which is what the weather has been like for weeks. It has been beautifully, gloriously, indian-summer-ly warm and I'm in disbelief that I have bare legs when friends like Sydney have snow. This outfit was quick to put together--I wanted to highlight the skirt's shape and buttons, so I chose a minimalist, close-fitting top. The partly-chic, partly-nerdy look of a necklace strung around a turtleneck is strangely appealing to me, and added a little bit of excitement to a more modest silhouette.

i love this look!
lovely! i love that skirt!
haha my mother just walked past the computer and said, "oh, that young woman's skirt is so nicely put together!" (my mother is a seamstress). and i like your bike. a lot.
so there you have it...approval from both me and my mother, really early in the morning. enjoy! haha
OH! I love the necklace around the turtleneck. It's the perfect accessory for this outfit. And the skirt! So adorable. I must have haha.
Also, thank you so much for the sweet words from yesterday. I literally squealed AHHHHHHHH when I saw your name! Hahaha, needless to say, I was sooo honored and flattered because I am in love with you and your style and of course your blog. Thank you :)
i've never liked it when i've tried necklace over turtleneck on myself, but this makes me want to try again!
I love the simplicity of this outfit, but then the unexpected bold necklace. Love it! I too am wearing a high waisted fuller skirt today :)
You look very chic and sophisticated here. I am also wearing a very similar skirt today! :)
That skirt really is fantastic. I love the pockets! Also, I just took at peek back at your other 30x30 pieces and thought this outfit would look great with the red Danskos for a pop of color :-)
I love wearing a necklace over a turtleneck. But why do you think it looks nerdy? I don't think it's nerdy at all, although nerd is a huge compliment in my book.
The necklace over turtleneck is inspired! (Don't let the boyfriend tell you otherwise...hehee...) I haven't been wearing turtlenecks the past few years--so glad they're back this season, as there's nothing cozier.
I too have beens sporting bare legs this late in the season!
This skirt looks great on you! I love the way you highlighted it with simple basics.
Oh man, I hear you on the indian summer - I live in St. Louis, and it's been WONDERFUL out! I love it! Bare legs all the way!
I love this simple and classic pairing of a black turtle neck with a khaki skirt!
I think this necklace is the perfect final touch for the outfit. I swear by Forever 21 jewelry... so chic, yet so cheap!
the necklace is the cherry on top in this outfit! the skirt is gorgeous, and so are you ^^

that necklace is a stunner for sure, and I adore the pleats in the skirt!
enjoy the nice weather!
So, this makes two days in a row now that I've had your blog open and my husband has said from across the room "is that you?" ... umm, nope but I'm flattered! Ha!
Love the clean lines and classic colors of this outfit - nice job!
the necklace perfectly amps up the glam factor on this outfit! i love the shape of the skirt and the only thing better than the pleats are the pockets! skirt pockets are the best. :)

that skirt is soooo perfect! ah! so tempting!
The necklace truly adds that coveted bit of "oomph" to the outfit! Love the simple silhouettes and the black and khaki together!
Personally, I am very thankful that it is unusually warm here :)

Very pretty!

The necklace was the very first thing I noticed. Love it! I also love how your outfits are always so cute and so practical for school. I take inspiration for my own treks across the great wide campus.
The weather really is nutty these days, isn't it?
Just adore the silhouette of that skirt.
Every time I see that skirt I get a little green. It's adorable!
I love your skirt! My mother had one like it when I was growing up, and I have no idea what happened to it... I might recheck her closet the next time I visit to see if I can find it, and of course steal it!
I've had mixed success with necklaces and turtlenecks so I'm glad yours works! I'll have to try it again.
i absolutely love this outfit! so simple, but very chic!
OMG, I LOVE that necklace, I feel like I may have said this the last time, but I LOVE it...like if we were friends in real life - you would have to let me borrow it, lol. You look great per usual!
Your skirt is beautiful, and I love your outfit today!
Very classic. This is something I will totally keep in mind for my next date night- well the date night that happens after the 30 days, of course! Beautiful!
Gorgeous skirt - I love the shape!

Beautiful- you are so Jackie Kennedy in this outfit. Love your 30 for 30 sets so far- giving my lots of inspiration for my own remixes.

I really love that skirt. Glad you chose it for your 30x30 challenge. It's so cute and versatile!

...What Sam said!
I really like this skirt on you (and on Kendi!), and I love that you've paired it so simply with bare legs and flats. It's just barely warm enough to wear bare legs around here, but it's so easy to fall into (no pun intended!) the fall=tights pattern that I haven't been giving myself "the relief of legs" as often as I probably should.
I really like this necklace, but I totally share your dilemma that the man in my life is not always a huge necklace/accessory fan. It works really well with the turtleneck, though!
Megan is going to get a lot more orders for this skirt with you and Kendi wearing it during the next month! Everyone will want one.
The Auspicious Life
SUCH a classic skirt. I neeeeeed it.
Love it! Great outfit. The button down front and shape of the skirt is just beautiful :)
Cool Outfit!

I also wore a necklace over my turtleneck for my most recent remix outfit. I was hesitant at first because I've always thought of it as kinda dorky too, but I now I kinda like it... a lot, lol!

Yeah, what the crap is going on with the weather??!? As much as I love it, it's totally throwing me off.
I really love this outfit though. The blingy necklace is perfect.
I've been wearing necklaces "nerdy style" over turtle necks lately too. I'm kind of liking it on me and loving it on you.
It was in the 70s today which makes me smile, because I realized that I don't have super cozy items in my 30 so if the temp drops drastically, I'm in TROU-ble.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
I am envious of the warm weather, England is cold and wet and at the moment really windy.
I do like your skirt, it looks neat and looks like it would go with most things. Of this I approve, I am on a tight budget and hate buying things that will only go with one or two items.
Love the buttoned skirt! The necklace is really nice; it stands out against the black!
So pretty and chic! I especially love the necklace...I dunno why but it looks sort of like an Egyptian collar necklace to me. It definitely adds pizzazz to an otherwise simple outfit.

I love the necklace! It definitely makes the outfit.
simple elegance... and the necklace is indeed a statement! also living your location..pebbles n the cycle wheel:) sweet!
You make F21 jewels look like classy stuff. Talent you have, my friend...
You're doing really well on the challenge! Kudos.
Following you. :) www.stylocrat.blogspot.com
omg,this is shocking amazing!
still digging that necklace, cant believe your boyfriend doesn't like it. kudos to you for picking something so simple and highlighting particular parts of your wardrobe. i feel this need to combine things in creative ways, and then im not bold enough to wear them :/
Do you know you're featured on collegefashion.com today? It was really exciting to see you on there and they chose some gorgeous photos of you as well!:)
i love the necklace on your turtleneck and you look so sleek with your skirt. so proper and so pretty! :)
I love this cute and simple outfit!! The necklace looks great with the turtle neck :) :)
I love the simplicity of this outfit -- sometimes it seems like lots of accessories make for a stylish outfit, but this proves that is not the case! Love it.
Daaaaaaarling skirt!!! Love your blog.
I love the necklace, it really lifts the top so much!
Man oh man, how do you figure these things out?! I feel drab when I wear a black turtleneck but I feel really mommish when I wear a necklace with it. What is the secret to finding the balance?
that's really cute!
Love the outfit and the necklace does not make it dorky. It gives some accent to the black turtleneck. Megan Nielsen will be busy making more of these skirts for all the women reading this.
