belt: anthro (gift), scarf (forever 21), shoes (target)
It's a little scandalously short with bare legs, but it's been so warm still in the Midwest that I could easily see wearing this out to dinner with Christopher or to hang out with friends.

striped tee (target), tights (j crew), boots (j crew), earrings (nobletown vintage)
This is definitely my favorite of the three ways to wear it--I love the subtle mix of polka dots and stripes and the slightly tunic-y feel of the unbelted dress.

tights (target), boots (steve madden), scarf (friend's castoff), belt (anthro)
For a really dark day, I like wearing a little more color, so these brights tights and scarf would probably accompany me to the library or the photocopy machine to brighten up my day.
Don't get sick of the dress yet; it will definitely make more appearances for the rest of the 30 for 30. Is there any limit to the number of ways you can wear a little black dress? I think not.

P.S. Magical triplets! Jealous of Christopher's photoshop skills?

I love all these looks, especially the second one - stripes + polka dots. (Looks like you got those tights from JCrew that you were contemplating on Twitter - good choice!)
Outfit #2 is my favorite, too, though I'd definitely wear #3. And yes, the photoshop skills are both impressive, and slightly creepy... Well done! :)
I love all three of these looks. I think the last one is my fave though. Way to get good use out of that fabulous dress!! And I am loving the last photo! lol
I can't choose a favorite! Love the mix of black and blue in the first, polka dots and stripes in the second, and the use of color in the third—and I love how different all three are. Beautiful!
Love how you styled the LBD. My fave is actually the first look! The orange scarf adds such a great pop of color and the whole outfit looks very easy and chic. Love!

Ahh, I love how you did it three ways. Cool photoshop triplets at the end!
Ooo Cute!!! I love how you wore it! It even looks like it could be 3 different dresses. Cute photoshop technique!! =)

Fantastic remixing. This is great inspiration!
Polka dots and stripes, who knew they looked so cute together!
I love the first outfit! Unexpectedly sexy!

A cute remixing staple--I love those polka-dot tights especially!
hehehe! i love the "triplets" pic! :D
I have a very similar dress in my 30. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love how versatile that dress is and your last 3 outfits definitely proved that it was a good pick for your 30/30 challenge!
I love the one with the red tights. Very versatile though!
Each one is great. I love the uniqueness of that huge belt in the first, and the gold earrings in contrast to the grey and black in the 2nd one and the juicy cololrs w/ earthy browns in the 3rd one!

you're seriously amazing at re working, you could wear this three days in a row and I don't think I would even notice! I like the second and third ones best too. Can't wait to see what else you do with it.
I like the stripes and polka dots option the best also. Although, I'm a big fan of coloured tights these days, so #3 is also super cute.
BTW, I love, love, love your blog. I'm a new reader and you've definitely got me hooked!
That is a fabulously versatile dress! I love the triplet picture - so cute and funny!
love the staple cotton LBD... i think it's important to have a casual LBD AND a formal LBD... and i agree with you, look two is my fave!
i love how it looks in the first picture with the bright scarf! awesome blog!

All three looks are beautiful! I like the last one the best because of the color, but the scarf matching the orange in the belt for the first look is really cool.
I love how different all of the looks are!!
Number 2 is my favorite. :)
All three of these are adorable! I'm torn between option 2 and 3, but seeing as I'm longing for some maroon tights, I'm gonna have to say #3 is my fav.

I love dresses that are that versatile! You did a great job of making each one really unique! The look with the striped shirt gave me an idea for how to wear my green dress in my 30 for 30
I absolutely love all three. Some unexpected combinations... The LBD is so easy to style in so many ways.
i *love* the stripes & polka dots look! i just snagged my polka dot tights so i need another pair! boo!
wow, three in one!
all so different, all very pretty. I like n. 3 lots.
...and yes, very jealous of the photoshop skills!
Here's what I love about your remixes--the lbd gives you a great canvas to highlight some of your super-cute details. Like the squirrel belt, and the pattern combo, and that fantastic bright scarf. Fun!
I'm doing the belted scarf thing today too. Is your scarf a loop or some magical fashion blogger trick I haven't figured out yet?
Jenn
I think #s 2 and 3 are my favorite takes - I love the interplay of the stripes and polka dot tights in version 2, but I am in love with the colors against the black backdrop in #3 - the scarf in #3 is just gorgeous...love it!! What a fabulous dress!
Small Time Style
I'm a new reader.
I just wanted to say that I, too, am a Bay Area girl who has relocated to the Midwest.
It's not too see the style!
oooh, this is awesome, you've just inspired me to wear my black dress in two new ways: layered over a black and white striped top and with my red tights and a red/orange scarf. I'll be rockin' both combos soon - thanks for this! I've been especially hesitant to pull out those red tights despite thinking that colored tights are great on others. Now I know how to make them look elegant and not too loud.
S.
The third outfit is my favorite! Love the red tights and colorful scarf.
Oooh, I love ALL of these. And yes, I'm jealous of Christopher's Photoshop skills!
Great mixing. The third one is my fave!
also, BARE LEGS? you're so lucky!
I was wondering what that black dress looked like! I noticed it in your 30x30 picks, but I couldn't tell much about the style. It's a lovely piece.
I like the stripes best AND--get this--before I saw this post, I was thinking about wearing my LBD with my new grey-and-white striped top! I feel like I've channeled my inner style nerd :-) xo
That dress was obviously a good investment!! I love how you styled it. And A+ on the photoshop..such an awesome photo!

What a versatile dress. I have a black jersey gap dress, and now I want to find a scarf to belt with it.
Cute dress, I love all the cute looks you wore it with! :)
Check out my blog: Principessa Gabriella
Outfit number 2 is my favorite! I love a great dress that looks great and is so versatile.

Great remix outfits, all adorable! Love the last pic, so fun!
I'm really wishing I had included my black dress which I never wear. I have a feeling I could be doing lots with it!
I love wearing bright colors like that if I'm not feeling well or I'm having a bad day. It always cheers me up a little if I'm wearing something bright and pretty.
Ha, just had a "being John Malkovich" moment. I think #2 is also my favorite. I only recently realized that I do not own a LBD.
Thanks for the remix inspiration!
I think I love the third one the most! Although all of them are gorgeous.
X
The last photo is so much fun! I really like the last outfit too with the pops of color!
mind = blown on that last picture.
i think i like the orange scarf combo the best - very pretty!
#1 is my personal favorite because the orange scarf frames your face wonderfully.
Those are some pretty impressive photoshop skills! I think my favourite is the third one :) colour!
i love the stripes and polka-dot version! so fun!
Haha, love the triplets shot. That is one heck of a dress! I like the third remix best. :)

i'm favoring looks 2 & 3, but really they all got flavor!
I am loving this November heat wave
Just Better Together
you are doing such an amazing job on the 30 for 30 challenge! I love the different looks for the little black dress :)
p.s. check out my etsy shop! HoneyBee Vintage
I think that number 2 is my favorite! I love how the scarf and tight match. (I'm a "matchy" kind of girl) Such a pretty shade of red, too!
Um. woah. That last picture BLEW. MY. MIND. And you can tell your man I said so. They all look so different! You're pure genius! Seriously. The first one is my fave though ... that orange scarf? gaw. perfection.
I love this! I'm also participating in the 30for30 challenge and although I haven't exhausted the ideas I have, I'm starting to get a little bored (I know, it's too soon to feel this way). I stumbled upon your blog when Kendi featured your "Why I Remix" piece and I love it!
Mad photoshop skills or you're secretly a triplet? :D
I think they all look really cute but the third one is very colourful and I hate that in winter a lot of clothing is either so bright it looks like a dead clown or black/brown/grey which is just the colour of sad face. Having a pop of colour like that is really cheerful without being gaudy. I really like the dress it's a nice cut and suits you.
Wow! you have a lot of comments. So I;m not even sure you'll have time to get to this one.
It's my first time here and I already love you style. I've been reading your blog for a few hours now! (I've reached mid October.)
I'm pretty nerdy and have flat straight hair so I can really relate to your style.
I'm not feeling the first one quite as much as the second and third. The second and third just have a lovely mix of patterns and colours (I also love the subtle mix of dots and stripes - gorgeous!).
love the black and white stripes combo- lovely!!!

Love this remix honey! THat dress is soooo cute! And yes, Christophers photoshopping is awesome, talented fella :)
Cute!! Love the one with the striped shirt the best. I now need to see if my black shirt dress will look cute with a striped shirt under it, too. :)
Lol, love that, very cute!
http://daisylynns.blogspot.com/
I love #2 also.. very cute!
I love 'em all, but incarnation #1 has got to be my favorite! Can't wait to see how else you style it. :)
OMG THERE ARE THREE OF YOU! i love how you were able to dress up the same dress thrice in a row! love the one with the stripes underneath. what can i say? I love stripes! looking fantastic as always
I love the color of the third look! I can see how it would brighten your day!
ooh i love all of these, but mostly the first one. and yes... i am jealous of your man's photoshop skills!
Photoshop skills = excellent
Black dress = versatile
Polka dot tights + striped top = adorable.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
It's crazy that you can make one dress look so different. I never think to buy versatile staples like that, doggone it!
very very cool ways to remix!!!
