I'm having one of those very irritable days (ladies, you know what I'm talking about). However, I have found that counting to ten, taking a few deep breaths, and eating half a box of taffies are having an excellent effect on my mood. Do you have any fail-safe tricks (or Ben and Jerry's flavors) for cheering yourself up on cranky days?

great mix of solids! you and kendi are both have a solids kind of day! and coffee heath bar crunch is my B&J savior.
I love your collage at the end with all of your layers. I love the transformation :)

I really need to invest in some tights. Love the layered look. Very nice

I love the browns and orange/reds! So cute. And that belt is way too cute- it's just one, right?
(I need a brownie right now, like nobodies business!!)
i love all of the wonderful colors of this outfit and that double-belt is so cute! and for me, getting some fresh air or going for a quick walk always helps my mood. definitely know what you're going through! :)

I just tried counting to ten and it didn't work. I went home over my lunch break and changed into leggings, boots, and a sweatshirt. I couldn't take being "dressed" anymore.
I am totally also having one of -those- days. There is seriously not enough chocolate in my office. Your tweet about ice cream also helped me decide I need to make a pitstop at the grocery store on my way home ;)
I'm a bubble bath + hot chocolate + fash magazine kind of girl. I love that counting to ten works for you though - that's way way quicker than my solution!!
ps. seriously, how funny is it how many layers we have to put on just to leave the house?!
God bless chunky monkey ice cream and tootsie rolls!
ps - i LOVE this outfit!
Love the colors, very "fall"! Eating ice cream and watching episodes of my favorite shows always makes me feel better!

the smiliest irritable person ever :) (and with the best ice cream tastes too)
Chocolate and B&J's Cookie Dough in the single serving cups helps a lot with those kinds of days :)
Love the fall colors in the outfit! I also love how the ruffled sweater adds a different neutral color to balance it all out! So pretty!
Small Time Style
"Mommed" -- that's hilarious!
Counting to ten and toffees are an excellent mood elevator. These days, I actually do a little mental "centering" and thinking one of these things helps me to get uncranky:
1. It's not the end of the world.
2. It's not all about me.
3. It's OK.
If those don't work, there's always:
4. Shake it off, ____(fill in your last name here)____.
You know, something like that.
Oh, I love the color combo!
Also, I'm wearing those same boots today :]
This outfit SCREAMS fall and I LOVE IT!!!! It's so cute. As always, you are fabulously fashionable :)
Love it. YOu are just RIGHT ON with the fall outfits lately.

Amy's comment is terrific advice!
I just saw your tweet--can I come over for ice cream too? I'll bring the fudge sauce! My best advice for irritable days is to step away for a few minutes, find some chocolate, and if I can, find someone who can make me laugh. Laughter is the best cure for the grouchies :-)
Hope tomorrow is better for you!
I really love the way your outfit looks with the cream-colored sweater! The mix of colors and values is just perfect. Hope things are less grumpy for you tomorrow!
Counting to ten? I count down from 90.. :D
Love these colours :)
my cranky days always call for something sweet. favorites: dark chocolate (no less than 70%) or something warm like a chai latte or an apple cider. yum!
here's to a better evening and day 11 :)
Lovely color palette!
I find that moving around always cheers me up, whether it's an actual workout or just getting up and dancing around to a favorite song.
Although I won't say no to B&J's 'Half-Baked' frozen yogurt. Yum and a half.
Love the colors together. And I love that you're wearing Jeremy's coat. It looks great with your outfit! My trick to crankiness? Sex. (TMI?) I swear it will make everything soo much better. ;)
I'm in love with Ben & Jerry's Cake Batter or Cheesecake Brownie!
For a cranky day I put on my favorite song and dance without an inhibition for 5 minutes. Just dance away the stress. -- It also helps to alternate this fail-safe activity with the ice cream, so in the end... you can have more ice cream :)
Love this look! I had a day like that this week, and I thought of the things I was grateful for, and got a good night's sleep. Those helped! XOXO, http://www.NatalyasCloset.com
dark chocolate and hot aromatherapy baths, some Regina Spektor maybe... haha
great color combo here! you resemble one of my friends and i can't get over it! :)
i wander, i wonder
Oh girl I hear ya. Ate a brownie today while crying about NOTHING. sometimes you just need to cry and eat chocolate!

A loud expressive song that I can sing along with... Meredith Brooks songs work :) or a Happy song.
The Reeses peanut butter cookie things are the greatest ever. They just make everything better!
You look beautiful -- love your fall palette here! I'm in love with that skirt and have enjoyed seeing your remixes of it.
Whenever I need a "me" moment on a crap day, I reorganize my jewelry. Sounds...weird, but seeing everything look pretty makes me feel better (and it's productive!). Though I like your taffy idea -- my favorite's peppermint!

crying never hurt anybody. and then practically overdosing on midol and curling up in a ball. and then finding all my favorite books and reading the best parts over and over. or doing that with movies. i usually start with ann of green gables. that gilbert blythe gets me everytime.
I love all these fall colors. I like the two belt combo - wait, is it just 1 belt that looks like 2?
When I am having a moment, I try to take a hot shower or bath.
Just Better Together
Love the skirt! (It's actually going to make an appearance in my 6 items or less wardrobe..eek!)
Feel better. Chocolate pretzels work for me every time...
i echo everyone with the fantastic fall color palate comments!
im actually a fan of the haagen-dazs five flavor ice creams, *especially* the strawberry. [i eat ice cream every day. no lie. i am a connoisseur.]
i too was having a day today. i got a pedicure, and made some homemade tomato soup with grilled cheese and had a glass of red wine. that did the trick for me!
autumn colors love! you're looking warm and toasty. i love it.
Sorry you felt bad. You still looked lovely.
I hide in bed with my cats, and watch bad tv.
I love the paper-bag waistband on that skirt, it's so cute--especially with the double belt!
I really like the color combo a lot; very pretty!
Your layers are so awesome! I absolutely love the details.
great colors! the way you layered everything is great.
when i'm having an off day, i listen to matt costa. he's amazinggg

You always look so lovely and this is no exception.
Personally I need some wine gums and pretzel m&m's when i'm having irritable days haha. Which is a lot lately... which is starting to really show on my thighs. Sigh
;)

LOVE the layers photos. I always wonder what people look like in their outerwear.
In love with your outfit! I absolutely love the fall colors. Shopping always cheers me up on bad days (dangerous, I know) but I guess you can't do that right now :( What about working out? Immersing yourself in a favorite book?
great warm shades!
A glass (or bottle) of wine and reality tv!
love the colors!
Even if you're feeling ick, you're looking great.
For me, a run/exercise usually helps. I never underestimate the power of natural endorphins. The trick is getting myself to actually GO RUN. Once I do, I typically feel better.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
Um, love this look, and love seeing how you layer for going out. (By the way, Phish Food is my go-to flavor. Never fails to please.)
I just found your blog and I´m already loving it, the range of colors from the outfit is soo pretty and it reflects the season sooo well!! Greetings from Mexico!!!
When I'm cranky, I love to have drinks with girlfriends. In sweats at home! I can talk about all the stupid irrational things that makes me cranky & they can tell all their stories too.
BTW, I love your outfits. Kinda preppy, but comfy. What are you studying in grad school?
