It's been crazy windy in the midwest! I didn't get around to taking photos until this afternoon, when I was looking a little worse for the wear. This dress, which badly needed a washing this morning, became a stretched out sack by this afternoon. My hair, which looked wavy and volumized this morning thanks to Sydney's awesome hair tutorial, was back to its normal I'm-flat-and-boring routine by 4 pm. Don't believe me? Just look:

I couldn't have gotten here on my own, so I have to thank the wind and my parents' genes for helping my hair reach such flatness :)

Aww The Steps! How I miss thee. I love your new cardigan :)
I truly like the 4pm hair, but I understand your frustration after puttin' in the 8AM work!
That is so funny! My hair is the same way, doesn't matter what I do to it, an hour later, it is straight again! Just like my moms hair!!
But the new sweater is super cute....and outshines the "4pm worse for wear".
You had me laughing with your sense of humor :D I like your hair both ways, if that helps ;)
Your look is also cute, specially the shoes.
Have a lovely evening!

oooh yes, I am with you on the hair issue! Only my problem is that my hair is so long and fine that it doesn't even curl in the first place :) But yours is gorgeous either way!
I love the ruffles on the cardi too :)

I love your new b-day J. Crew sweater! It's been super windy in my part of the midwest too!
Are you kiddin? Your hair is GAWgous in these. All long and straight and perfectly wind-swept. Don't know whatchoo talkin' bout. Although I AM loving the curliness on ya! Glad it WORKED!! :) At least for 8 hrs anyways :)
do you use product? my hair wouldn't hold a curl/wave until I startrd using kevin murphy motion lotion. it's been crazy windy here too!
girl! you were seriously right outside my office today! (i'm actually "underneath" the amphitheater...) you should have poked in and said hi!
have i said yet what a small world this is?

That is what I love about curls though, they have one look in the morning and a completely different one at night. Both amazing. You pulled this off flawlessly!

Flat hair...no flat hair...either way you look wonderful.
I really like your clogs too.
xx:)
Your 4PM face is the BEST :) And the curls on your fabulous new bday sweater make up for the ones lacking in your end-of-day 'do!
The color of your cardigan is so great! And your hair still looks amazing even though the curls were windswept out! haha i'm jealous, mine would just look like a huge mass of mess.
Oh you're so funny! I hate when my oh-so-perfect outfits gets ruined because it stretches out during the day. And I also have straight hair. On good days, I can finish curling the 2nd half of my head before the first half uncurls. My hair is THAT straight.
Just Better Together
The new cardigan is so adorable!! Sorry about your deflated hair. Sometimes I wish I could get mine to be as straight as yours (but I guess that's just how it goes!)
Chic on the Cheap
Ha! I tried Sydney's tutorial, too. Still in the perfecting stage. Or actually-getting-it-right stage, rather. Love your new JCrew sweater. It's such a lovely color! xo
that is what happened to my hair when I did her tutorial.
What a cute sweater! and geez, I've totally had days like that before. The hair story reminds me of my junior prom; my friend's mom gussied it all up with curlers and as much hairspray is barely legal. Still, but the end of the night, my hair was a limpid form of what it used to be. Thank you, genes.

where did you get that gotv banner? i'd like to put one on my blog!!
I have the exact same hair issue! My hair protests any kind of manipulation but will hold a ponytail bump for two days...
I do love this mix of items though!
I love the cardigan! I love the 4pm hair too, though I know that nobody likes their natural hair so you won't see how lovely it looks yourself.
LOVE that sweater! Nice look overall! I have the same hair... sigh.

great cardigan dear, very pretty! my hair always does that too...
love the sweater!! and i tried the hair tutorial too, and mine ended up about the same. haha :)
So I basically a-freaking-DORE that cardigan. The ruffly detailing. Holy crap!
And it really was amazingly windy, wasn't it? Totally intense.
I did the hair tutorial too and I loved the way it looked. Too bad it was mid week and I wasted good hair on work... boo.
That cardi is freaking good!
luv your outfit! (and the krannert background too!)
I love the out fit, but one way to combat the flatness (my hair does it too) is Herbal Essence tousle me softly products work great. especally the finishing creme and the hair spray.
I run a bit of the creme through my hair before styling that strand, and then as soon as I'm finished styling I load it up with some spray. The best part is, you can actually still touch your hair too with out it looking or feeling like too much product.
Cause my hair is frizzy and thick and if I take away the friz, it has NO volume. Its like a choice between flat or afro... The Herbal Essence stuff is great because it counter acts all that. I reccomend you try it. (Really not trying to make an ad for Herbal here, just sayin what works) --Kate
