I have been a little wary of the thigh-high sock trend, but after seeing it on Kyla, Sydney, and Kendi, I decided to reconsider. Armed with a birthday gift certificate (thank you, Claire, I love you!), I braved the steep $3.50 price and I am officially converted. They are super warm and a little bit sexy, even though they're covering you up. Plus I feel like I look a little fancy even though I'm mostly wearing stretchy fabrics. Win!
Have you tried thigh-high socks? Would you? I was so skeptical but now I'm totally sold--they are cozy, warm, and make me feel ultra-pretty.
P.S. The only thing this outfit is missing is a big, black cocktail ring, which I don't have, but you could! Enter the giveaway here.

Whoa! You know, in writing, "thigh-high socks with a lace mini skirt and black boots" sounds MUCH more risque than this looks! You look great - I wish I had the legs for those socks and boots :/

I have highly considered them with boots to transition into fall. After seeing them on all of you lovely ladies I think it may be time to take the plunge!

Whoa! Super hot look, Tania! I'm curious, though, if you would wear this to campus...?

What Would a Nerd Wear said...

Yes, I would wear this to campus, but no, not with my students! Probably not to a meeting with my advisor, even, but definitely around colleagues and friends.

A little sexier than usual, looks like you are feeling the sass!

Haha I'm wearing the same skirt right now, but I'm posting the outfit on Monday.
Have a good one!

I'm really loving this look, you can really pull off those socks! I have a few pairs but I'm always anxious of wearing them, but I will try! I feel as though they're sort of squishing my legs haha! =D

My legs end up getting segmented in a most uncomfortable way. But love 'em on you!

You look sooo sophisticated and sexy at the same time! I love this outfit!!
I haven't tried the thigh-high socks yet, but I may have to go find myself a pair now! I've already tried socks with wedges/heels and sort of rocked it, so I'm willing to try this...I think :)

I have the socks in the same grey and in black. Lovin' 'em so far. I guess they don't come up as high on this tall girl, but they've been great. Love this outfit----I still want the skirt in grey so badly! Found ivory yesterday...score.

You look great! I can't imagine wearing something like that to work though. I got some thigh high socks, but they definitely do not work with my legs, but I'm wearing them scrunched down in boots and really love them that way!

You look HOT! A little different from your everyday outfits. I like! :)

I think I'm going to pick these up today. I was worried about the sketchy-schoolgirl vibe they can give up, but they're adorable with boots.

Jilliebeanie said...

Ah yes...this skirt. I bought mine a couple of weeks a go and have yet to wear it...all in due time. I'm amazed how you (and others) have styled it so simply, yet so perfectly.

And thigh-highs? Yes, love them too.

Nicola said...

I don't know, even though I don't usually have leg worries I do think that elasticated socks will just cut into my thighs in a really unattractive way. Glad to see someone rocking them though!

Between Laundry Days said...

DAMN, Tania, this is fabulous! I love the thigh-highs. I think you have convinced me to give them a shot myself! :)

Justine said...

OH! These look great on you! But I have a question, do they ever slide down?!

I wouldnt wear them barelegged, but i LOVE layering them over tights!

I love it! I have that very same skirt, too, which I wore last week. It's so gorgeous, isn't it? I think you look fab in the thigh high socks.

Roxanne said...

I don't know if I'll ever be able to get into them, but they certainly look awesome on you! xo

Adri said...

Hi! I like the way high socks look when other people wear them, but I'm still a little bit unsure about trying to wear them myself. I guess I will just wait until it gets colder here and wear a pair with boots or over tights, like Lexie, Little Boat said!

Oh, I'm loving the high sock trend. It's such a great way of making a conservative outfit look sexy. (Brilliant idea with the knee high boots it makes the transition a bit easier.)

Wow, check you out! I like this look a lot, including the shock value of wearing it to campus :-) It's a very sexy look for any academic functions, but I think you figure out what your limits are by pushing past them. So if it works for you: two thumbs up!

amy said...

Very cute! I used to rock these in high school, ala Cher from Clueless. I suppose that gives away my age... Why yes, I AM over 30. Why do you ask?
;)

I haven't tried thigh high socks yet. Maybe Santa will put some in my stocking this year!!!

You look so great. I've drooled over this skirt at Target and now I ask myself, "Self, why didn't you just buy it???"

If only I weren't too old for a mini! This combo looks so fun and trendy, not at all how it sounds on paper. Maybe I could pull off the mini, but wear tights that go all the way up! Who makes the rules anyway, right?
