I'm Alive

I don't often get sick, but last week, I had the mother of all illnesses and was down for the count for three days. I didn't get dressed (heck, I barely got out of bed!). I did have the pleasure of watching an entire season of Dexter, an exciting rarity because I usually don't have time to watch TV. Thanks for your sweet well-wishes and for sticking in there while I vanished :)

I'm Alive

I had to come back with a bang of an outfit so it was the perfect time to break out this skirt I've been hoarding waiting for cooler weather. I got it on sale thinking it would be the warmer winterized version of this one, because it's wool. (Freakishly, it's back to full price right now but knowing J. Crew, it'll drop again if you have your eye on it).

I'm Alive

I don't often pair orange with blues, so I liked the unexpected contrast of both color and texture (denim against wool). I could see updating this for colder temps with navy tights and boots, but for now, I'm loving this little indian summer we're having and a few more weeks of blissfully bare legs!

And I'm glad you're feeling better. Those first colds/flus of the season are pretty rough!

I really like the contrast of orange and blue - and you pull it off nicely (I don't think I could manage it). Glad to hear that you are feeling better as well, and that you got to watch a whole season of Dexter (I love that show).

Yay for unexpected color/texture combinations! Blue and orange are really underused, lovely complementary colors, if you ask me.

Glad to see proof that you're alive, and what awesome photos!! I think your color scheme looks great here, it's almost a neutral palette so the subtle blues and orange work wonderfully together :)

The denim shirt looks like it almost ofsets the orange of the skirt. It is a perfect combination!

You've picked up on something I've been wondering lately. I've been known to pair a tee-shirt with wool...and I'm wondering if that's weird.

Good to see you back again on your feet...honestly, i am not a big fan of today´s outfit, though. Seems as if the skirt shortens you vertically, which maybe has to do with the flats...i don´t know....i am confused now :)

I'm sure your mortal coil thanks you for continuing to be alive. Hooray! I like the color combination.

Welcome baaaaaaaack! It's funny, because I think I had the exact same title for one of my blog posts, complete with the exaggerated iiiiiiiiiiiiii's.

I happen to really like orange and blue together, and the chambray is darling. Glad to hear you're better; though isn't it nice to catch up on TV shows when you're sick? That's how I ended up watching all of Pushing Daisies once.
