October Babies

This outfit came to me right before I fell asleep the other night, in that funny interlude where one is struck by sleepy inspiration for a paper topic, or where you put your favorite earrings, or a good outfit combination. I had been wondering how to wear this blazer when this combination came to me (sometimes I wish more important ideas would come to me before sleep, but I'll take what I can get).

October Babies

It's gotten pretty chilly around here, and I wanted to wear the awesome vintage wool blazer I thrifted a few weeks ago. I'm not much of a blazer person, because I have wider shoulders and sometimes I worry they make my shape more masculine than I like, so I wore it with a feminine printed dress. I tried to tone down the seriousness of the blazer with a hoodie underneath (conveniently, it also keeps the wool collar from being too itchy). I love the transitional look of bare legs with boots and how it makes the look feel more rustic than schoolgirl-ish.

October Babies

And the mix of textures here is unusual for me, so eat your heart out, J. Crew.

That's such a good idea with the hoodie and the blazer!

oh snap! I really like the way you incorporated a hoodie with this outfit. Brilliant!

Ah! Tania! I love this!! So funny, 'cause I'm totally reading Ulysses right now, too. It's that time of year? That, or we're all just awesome people. (probably the latter)

Anyway, this is radically fantastic. J.Crew better take some notes from your awesomeness.

Love the blazer, it looks great! Funny, I dont think of you as having particularly wide shoulders, so I think the silhouette works just fine. Those bare legs though... brrr!

OMG! I love this! The hoodies/blazer combo is so smart and I love the layered socks and boots! Perfection!

I love the hoodie/blazer combination. I may have to copy your idea.

Love this layering! You look very chic and cozy at the same time. I love blazers/hoodies on boy guys and girls. I feel like I've been on a blazer hunt for...ever.Tried at the Jcrew outlet, but over $100 for non-tall sizes just wasn't going to happen right now.

One of my favorite things about fall is layering blazers and hoodies! I think it's the perfect I'm serious-but-fun combo. Looks great on you!

I've been meaning to put together a hoodie/blazer outfit for awhile now (its on my Fall inspiration board). Love how you pulled it off!

I love it when great ideas come to me at that time of night. Although nothing pisses me off more than waking up the next morning and not remembering the brilliant notion that hit me. A notebook on the nightstand is a must.

This outfit is fantastico, and I will be trying my blazers out with hoodies soon. You look smashing! :o)

I love the blazer/hoodie look. Love love love. Sadly, the weather here provides me with about 3 opportunities a year to bust out that combo. :-( Also, love your side braid; I'm a fan of that too!

Haha, so we've got an Ulysses fever, because a friend of mine is going to lend me this book this week, hahahaha. I love this combo. I wouldn't have imagined myself wearing a blazer/hoddie. I guess I'll try it sometime! ;) You're an inspiration Tania!

xoxo, have a sweet week, geek! Hahahaha :*

Ah, I love this! It's so unusual, but it totally works. (And note to self: I have GOT to get some boots this season.)

On a literary note, I feel woefully under-read, since I didn't get the title at all. I love to read, but I've never read Joyce. Though I think I did check Ulysses out of the library once...

I like how you combined your hoodie with your blazer, very cool. That is also one of the coolest residential streets I've ever seen. Love how it's bricks instead of asphalt.

I love this! I also just thrifted a fantastic wool blazer... I might just try an outfit like this one.

so many layers for yet such a relaxed look!:)

This is a pretty inspired look, T. You look like a J.Crew model with all these different layers and textures.

I'm not a huge wearer of blazers, either -- my narrow shoulders usually means that blazers are too boxy on me when I buy them, and I have to get them taken in. But I'm so into your look here, that I have to try this soon!

:)

I love this outfit! I love to layer hoodies with a more structured jacket over top.

I love this look! It works, head to toe. I just thrifted a vintage wool blazer this weekend, and I'm trying to work the look (today I'm wearing it with jeans, flats, and a t-shirt, but I am definitely looking forward to trying it with a dress and boots!).

Wow! a hoodie with a blazer. I like this look--sometimes our recombinations are so obvious, it's a wonder we didn't think of them before. It's kind of like calling roll in class and realizing the student you are looking for is front and center.

Absolutely love this outfit. It screams "fall" to me without being to match-y match-y. Great look (and I'm so jealous you found that blazer out thrifting!)!

As a fellow nerd, I'm sure that you would want to know that there is a word for that sleep/awake state. Its called the hypnagogic state, "the mysterious doorway between sleep and waking." At this time you are supposed to be very receptive to intuition.
