Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me

While everyone else seems preoccupied with the arrival of fall, I am sad to see summer on its way out. I'll miss easy summer dresses, drinking beer on the porch, and warm evening bicycle rides. Not to mention the flattering comments Jentine leaves about my legs (is it okay if I want to keep you stashed next to my mirror at all times?).

Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me

So don't tell me it's fall just yet. I'm still enjoying bare legs, long weekends without makeup, and all things sleeveless. What about you? Are you itching for long sleeves and tights or are you also a little panicky about leaving the warm days behind?

Love the simplicity of the dress and the bright yellow shoes!

I want fall, tights, boots, cardigans and all that good stuff, but a little part of me is crying at the end of summer.

Oooh! Such a chic pairing---lovin' the yellow flats. I'll definitely miss the ease of summer dresses (this is a fabulous one!), but I'm also looking forward to boots, tights, layers.

You look so sweet today. I'm itching for fall but definitely hoping to get in a few more sweet summery outfits. I'm also planning on avoiding tights for as long as possible simply because I know once I put them on I'll be in them for about 6 months.

I love this photos. Something about them just feels so warm and makes me wish summer lasted longer! I love the yellow flats with the light blue dress, too.

I see why everyone is craving fall, and I really do prefer the cooler weather and clothes of fall and winter to summer.

That said, summer is also my vacation from teaching, and so I happen to LOVE it.
Since we're already back at school, I've already had to kiss my summer vacation goodbye. Weekends of lounging around just aren't the same. Aaahh, bittersweet, the end of summer.

I love the simple dress with the yellow flats! I am torn. I love fall. It is my favorite season because of football, boots, cardigans, foliage, cooler temps for running and biking. However, I hate winter, so I am conflicted between my passion for all things autumnal and the knowledge that it's over so quickly in the upper midwest.

And you have amazing legs! Don't let your mirror ever tell you otherwise!

P.S. Are you referencing the NPR show Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me?
Love!

@amy: yes, of course! i am an NPR addict.
and i'm totally with you, LHdM--fall is my favorite, too, but that doesn't mean I want the cold to come any quicker! brrrr!

You look absolutely dreamy in these photos. And I'm with you: stay just a little longer, sweet, sweet summer!

Malicious Mallory said...

I'm feeling a little of both.
I like going barefoot, hanging out outside, sunshine until 9:30 at night, and swimming. But I miss sweaters and tights like nobody's business!
I think I'm looking forward to the cold a little bit more than wanting the hot to stay though - it's just SO HOT. :p

Oh goodness me...even if i am in danger to repeat myself: this is what beauty is about. No make-up tricks, no fake hair or boobs, no false smile. Just an adoringly cute smile, a faboulous dress, such legs and a boyfriend who appreciates what he is blessed with.

You´re looking absolutely stunning, maybe the best look in say, 3 months?

Keira said...

You can totally remix those summer dresses for fall, beer drinking is good year-round, and now your bicycle rides will be more "refreshing" ;) But I'm with you, the end of summer is bittersweet.

I have this dress too! I just love it so much.
I'm definitely going to miss summer too, but since I live in FL it really won't get all that cold.

I want to pack in few more days, maybe a couple of weeks of warm weather. I am from San Francisco, so it RARE to have a nice sunny day.

Your yellow shoes surprised me when I scrolled down. I like it!

Love the bright yellow shoes! Personally I am awfully sad to see summer go (although it's so hot here that it won't be going for awhile). It's my favorite season and, although fall is nice with its hot tea and falling leaves, summer is the best.

Ooh, I dig the yellow flats here! Nice!

Strangely, I have mixed feelings about fall. I'm a Midwesterner displaced in Texas for the time being, so you'd think I'd be doing cartwheels for fall, but I can't help but feel a little sad that summer is ending. I think it's the summer produce that slays me--nectarines, berries, tomatoes, zucchini...I could go on, but I'll stop here ;-)

Ha! I love Wait Wait!

Also, I looove this outfit. Jentine is spot-on with her compliments; your legs look marv. I'll definitely miss the simplicity of summer outfits!

Thank you so much for posting this, I've been feeling like I am the only one lately who is trying to hang on to summer! I live in an area where we get maybe 4 warm days a year and they're happening RIGHT NOW so I'm cherishing the easy breezy look too :)

Haha, I wate cold weather too! With all my soul! I'm always sick, my sking gets extra dry, I can't take low temperatures, I HATE winter!

Fortunately, spring is finally starting in Argentina, so, yay! However, I'll be moving to the States before the end of the year, so I'll have some extra cold weather this year ... again!

I love simple summer dresses, and that dress looks great on you.

I'm missing summer, but the weather decided that it is time for me to break out my fall clothes today.

I live in the north of England where anybody here will tell you the weather has been awful. I have been living in long sleeves and tights ALL SUMMER and I'm looking forward to autumn (Fall) as it may bring some warm weather with it...yes I recognise how pathetic that sounds...can I move to America for the weather?

KittenGoddess said...

Also, I adore the first picture, you have so much character in your face, it's fabulous.

This is a perfect summer look. I'm glad someone is still enjoying these last days. I admit, I'm one of those who is already looking ahead to fall.

How can 2 simple pieces look sooo good?

I always feel this way about fall. I truly love, love, LOVE fall, but I wish it was followed by spring. You know, just forget the whole winter part. When I had no time to get dressed this morning and only had to throw on a dress without having to worry about covering my arms or having clean tights, I shed a little tear for summer. I feel you.

Also, I wanted to thank you for your incredibly sweet comment the other day. You made me smile.

It's NOT fall yet! We still have time! I do think the weather will begin to get a bit warmer before it gets cold. (I hope - I also have many summery dresses I want to wear!)

I love this pale blue dress. Looks so pretty on you. And the shoes make such a happy statement.
